Title: Tyshawn Taylor weighs in. . .

"I spoke briefly with St. Anthony senior Tyshawn Taylor who has committed to Marquette. He and his teammates were being honored at the Nets game for winning the Tournament of Champions.

"It came as a big surprise," Taylor, a first-team Associated Press All-State selection, said of the Crean news.

Taylor said he spoke briefly with St. Anthony coach Bob Hurley about the situation and Hurley advised Taylor "to wait it out and see who gets the Marquette job."

"I"m going to try to wait it out but I might have to start looking around and talking to people," he said."

That doesn't seem good even if he has to be released from his LOI.

all the more reason to move decisively and with confidence.

You guys do know that Colorado is in the U.S. right?  He could be back in Milwaukee this evening.

Don't know about that ... but I've heard of these amazing new thingamabobs called telephones that allow people separated by great distances to speak to one another.

I just pray he had the foresight to have a hotlist at the ready.

If not, well, he is the wrong AD.

I find it a bit disconcerting that the AD didn't know his coach was about to quit at a critical time to:  a) match the offer, b) handle the pr spin in person, c) start the job search, and 4) ease player and recruit fears.  It may be May 1 until the new replacement is found...with a month of fear mongering, counseling for two critical players thinking about the NBA, etc. ahead.  If not handled correctly, we go from a potential top 10 to top 150 team over night.  I would hire Buzz tomorrow with a three year deal to settle (no way you get Miller, maybe Bennett).  Alumni will be p/o'ed, but it is our best option due to the whole situation.  TC left us in a pickle--which is the worst thing of him leaving.

... and hard to believe considering IU would have had to have asked permission to talk to Crean.
Wouldn't that have at least made the AD squirm, even with TC constantly reminding everyone he's not leaving MU...???

this
could
be
a
very
bad
thing
