Title: INDIANA PENALTY
Post by: classof70 on April 01, 2008, 09:05:36 PM
Has the NCAA rendered a penalty on IU for the Sampson debacle?  If so, what?  If not, what's the speculation?  Tough penalty could make Crean's life a little less pleasant.

I just read that IU self-imposed a loss of one scholarship.  Now, whether that satisfied the NCAA I cannot determine.  I too hope it isn't enough. :-[

Actually, it takes the pressure off the first year coach.  Crean won;t have to worry about making the tourney, etc.  He has a free ride the first year clenaing things up and making things squaky clean.

I've heard there was a self imposed penalty that the head coach is not allowed to hit the road on recruiting trips for a year or something like that.
