umass coach travis ford would fit our current style of play perfectly. he plays one a fast break, up tempo style that would work with well with our players. he has taken umass to the nit semifinals this year, just missing out on an ncaa bid the past two seasons.
massmu = UMass undergrad, MU graduate?
Tell us more about Ford...
ESPN2 now. UMASS-FLA
im from massachusetts so i grew up a big umass fan, but now that i go to marquette of course im a die hard mu fan.
all sec point guard at kentucky in the early 90s.
Ford or Miller would be ideal.
Ford would fit with our type of playes.
took western kentucky to the tournament in 2005 after taking over in 2000.
took the umass job later that year, lead the program from very medicore to one of the best in the A-10.
he went 24-9 and nine in only his second year and this year a heartbreaking loss in their confrence tourney kept them out of march madness; currently they are in the nit semifinals. He was considerd for the kentucky job last year, and listed as the top candidate for the lsu job early this year.
umass also had the 8th best scoring offense in college basketball averaging 81.5 points per game.
ford has brought new excitment on the umass campus in the past few years, similar to the way crean had rejuvinated the marquette campus. i think he would be a good fit.
