Four things to cheer you up...

Written by: mu_hilltopper

Four things to cheer you up this weekend:

1. Davidson Beat Bucky

2. The Lopez twins are on the loser bus, just like the other 60 teams.

3. The Final Tom Crean Show on Time Warner Sports was fantastic.  They've compressed all their Homer Interviews into one 5 minute Best of Homer spot:

4. Finally, here's our season, compressed into 5 minutes of goodness.

Watching the highlights, and the sinking feeling seeing anything having to do with the Stanford game, got me to thinking.

Marquette is in a position a lot of programs can only dream of. We averaged 16,239 fans per game this year, a school record. We have a homecourt advantage that very few programs can match. We beat Madison in Madison, a rare feat for anyone. We have an exclusive agreement with Converse, wearing DWade's stuff (including some of the best jerseys in college hoops). We played on one of the bigger stages in college hoops three nights in a row- the primetime game at the Big East Tournament. We advanced in the NCAA Tournament and was one bounce away from a Sweet 16.

And nobody is satisfied. And that is a GREAT thing.

Personally, I wouldn't want anyone connected to the program to be satisfied with where we're at. Pleased? Definitely. There's a lot to be proud of... but there is still a ton of room for this program to grow. I'm looking forward to seeing the next step come November.

Half way through the first interview I saw with Lazar earlier this year, I thought he sounded like he has a future in broadcasting.

I wonder how serious he is when he says he wants to work with Homer.  OK, not necessarily with Homer, but in broadcasting?
