Title: Man, what a great night!
Post by: ecompt on March 28, 2008, 08:19:07 PM
The Lopez punks and the Big Red Army going out within minutes of each other. It takes away some of the sting from last weekend. Nice job, Bo. Coach of the Year, my butt.

I couldn't agree more.

I think I strained my vocal cords when Side Show Bob was posterized!

???

Can we pull up some posts from the beginning of this season with regards to Wisconsin's outlook for 2007-2008?  Not that I should expect a Marquette board to provide objective analysis concerning Bucky, but I'd say a good percentage of people were thinking a down year for the Badgers.  A Sweet 16 appearance...  pretty freaking good for a down year.

If you're a Wisco fan, that was EMBARASSING. Big Ten title or not, that was a thrashing in the second half, just a pummeling.

Wisco was out everything-ed tonight. For a system like what Bo runs to get destroyed out of the building like that is a total fiasco. I'll take our ending to the season over that anyday of the week (and twice on Sunday).

That was a beatdown.

They had a 6-11 McDonald's All-American and a very experienced team. They played in a conference that was, in a word, awful. They got every call in every game all year (including a 22-12 edge in free throws tonight) and still lost. Take a hike, Bo. Now go lie to some more recruits.

The highest seed Wisconsin beat in this tournament was an 11.  Their four pre-tournament losses were all to NCAA tournament teams.  It was a mediocre season for them.  They were buyoed by two things:  1. A win over Texas (currently in the Elite 8) and 2. Winning the Big Ten, which still holds some respect for people.

What I find interesting is how UW's bitching over a #3 seed plays into this.

If, theoretically, Gtown and Wisky swapped places and Wisky were the #2 seed, they would have gone out in the second round. Instead, by being a higher seed (versus the Gtown 2 seed for that bracket), they were handed the opportunity to go another round.

Haven't been to the JSonline baajr blog yet ... bet it's delicious.

This night really turned the whole NCAA experience around for me.

Nothing like Wiscy and the Lopez dorks losing BIG on the SAME NIGHT!

I'm really giddy right now!  :D

What I wouldn't give to have MU play in the Big Ten this last year, get a top 10 ranking, a top 3 seed and then parlay that into the draw you got.

bo has only beaten one single-digit seed in the tourney... and that was a #9.  granted, you don't choose who ya play.
