I know there are haters out there but anyone who thinks this team is better off without Dom is foolish.
Please one more year Dom!
i'll second that.
agreed. if he stays i think we might be even better next year
Don't see it happening.
Why would he go if he isn't even projected to be drafted as of right now. I don't think there is a chance in hell that he leaves unless he wants to play in Europe
i hope he leave and we will be a better team without him. that is my 2 cents!!!
We are better with James!!!
He's the leader out there and we always play better when he's on the floor.
It will be sad to not have him next year I truly enjoyed watching him play.

I will never understand why some people feel this way. We play worse immediately whenever the guy sits. Every single time. If he comes back we'll have another great shot at a sweet 16 next year. If not, I'm not so sure.
At this point, I feel like Coach Norman Dale in Hoosiers: if he leaves, he's an idiot, if he stays, great. But we'll play on without him, and we'll find a way.
I would really like him to stay, it is really obvious we lose alot when he goes to the bench. He's a great defender and passer, just somehow needs to find a way to improve the shooting.

And it's worth less than that. You couldn't be more wrong. DJ is BY FAR the best PG on this team. There is no debate.
No debate at all.
We will NOT be a better team without James. He's learned to distribute 1st and shoot 2nd even more later this year. I hope he's back.
As Seniors: DJ, Jerel dropping 20 points a night and Matthews contributing what he always does I find it hard pressed to believe we're not a top 10 team next year battling seriously for the BE crown.
I'm with you guys... please come back DJ!! This is a much better team with you on the floor and with you, I think we can have a great run next year. Please come back!

Wow. Have you watched an MU game this year?
Haha, i doubt James could get drafted even if he wanted too. His draft stock did not improve, if anything, it went down because he still inconsistent with his shooting! So count him back at MU next year! Mcneal however is making a serious case, his stock has risen tremedously in the last 6 games...don't be surprise if he test the waters....basically MU is in a jam with their scholarship situation, since everyone is returning back next year!
If he comes back, along with the Taylor and Williams coming in, as well as a 100% Mbakwe (and hopefully improved), we will be a title contender next year.
If he doesnt, i think we'll be around a 6 seed again.
Jerel and Lazar are set for HUGE years next year, which should help, and acker is getting better as a floor general.
But in no way will we not miss DJ. We just run so much more smoothly with him out there, no one else can really handle the ball.
I think it's possible someone could be transferring and it just hasn't been announced yet. And that person could be Patrick Hazel. With Mbakwe, Hayward, Burke all in front of him at his position I think he might want to go back home and play with a mid-major school on the east coast.
If James is back and our starters 1-4 (position-wise) can improve their shooting by just a little bit we'll contend for a Big East Title and be a tough out in the NCAA Tournament. If James isn't back (or Jerel, for that) we'll probably have a very similar season to this year. If Jerel and James leave we'll be middle of the pack in the Big East and a bubble team.
Somebody said it earlier, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Burke improve a bunch this off season and come back with a chip on his shoulder. He was pretty upset at the end of the game last night. I could see him with games like he had at UW more often next year. I could see him being good for 8-10 points and 6-8 rebounds a game next year. That would be huge. That is, if he puts the time and effort in during the off season.
I hope James come back. I think people feel we are a better team without him, because in some games he continues to shoot from the outside when he is clearly off on his shot. In those games we would be better off without him. However, overall we are better with him. If he is gone, I beleive Taylor will start at point over Aker.

here is a man who doesn't watch the games, just sees the shooting percentages and when we lose blames it all on Dominic James, the leader.
If you honestly think we would be better without a senior leader as a PG, then you have never watched a full Marquette game, and don't understand how leadership works.
Why do you think Wisconsin is so good this year, they have no stand out... they just have two very good SENIOR leaders, in Flowers and Butch, senior leaders are very hard to come by. Two years ago we had Novak who took a team not expected to do anything into the tournament, since then we haven't really had good leadership, we have been hoping for someone to step up, or big expectations from other players.
James, McNeal, Matthews, Hayward, Burke....
sounds better then
Acker, McNeal, Matthews, Hayward, Burke....
just my two cents.

Hayward and Hazel do not play the same position. Hazel is a natural 4 that we can use at a 4 or 5 and Hayward is a 3 that we can use as a 3 or 4 depending on how we set our lineup. When McNeal, James, Hayward, Barro, and Blackledge were in the game together, Hayward is the wingman. There is no way you can consider Hazel to be that player on the court. I think he will stay and his pt will increase. He's still young and he showed he could play in the limited time he got. I would say it is more likely Wesley or James give up a scholarship since James would be eligible for a ton of scholarship money given his family's financial situation and his grades and Matthews could get a decent academic scholarship as well and he's more well off to be able to pay for school. We will see though.
Rosiak eluded in his chat that all 3 (including James) would be back.
IMO DJ is an incredible athlete, but McNeal is the heart of this team. The GEs will be awesome whether DJ returns or not. My money says both will be back.
Good luck next year!
Senior guard play wins championships. With DJ, McNeal, and Matthews in the backcourt MU would have to top 15 if not top 10 preseason next year.
Nobody else on the roster could provide the same athleticisim, defense, speed, and yes, LEADERSHIP that Dom does.
My money says he returns and we have one if not THE premier backcourts in the country next year.
This thread's title is a misnomer.
It should be: "Please One More Year JEREL."
Based on his season's progress and play in the postseason, DJ is NOWHERE near what Jerel is probably thinking of right now.
DJ's not ready...Jerel is much closer to being there (in the NBA - possibly).
I expect DJ to be back...not sure about Jerel.
