Title: Tucker = classless
Post by: Harrison on December 09, 2006, 04:31:37 PM
Great player, great game but all the in your face and dancing and stuff.  utterly classless, It's one thing to be pumped up it's a whole other to rub it in an opponents face.  that would not fly for most coaches.

I don't even know what you are referring to.  If he did celebrate a bit he sure deserves it.

Funny, I didn't see any of that.

But that's because time and time again, UW would score, and I'd slap my forehead and look skyward, or just cover my eyes and shake my head.

He's a great player who had a great game, there's no need to call him names.  It's a big game and he showed emotions.  He had his day and he earned the right to enjoy it.

I'm sure Travis Diener never gloated when he was having great games on the road.

at the next level. At this point, I'm not ready to say that about any player on MU's roster.

Tucker is also a 5th year senior who has logged a lot of minutes since stepping onto the UW-Madison campus.  Our best players are only in their 2nd season.  You can't buy that kind of experience.

I agree. We are inexperienced. But looking at the scoreboard, we're not THAT far behind.

If I was going out and beat MU on their home floor, I'd dance up a show on the MU fans too.

I'm sure you're going to now say Al McGuire standing on top of the scorer's table saluting the WI fans was purely classless.

I hate UW as much as anyone, but you're way off.

Cut the crap.   James, McNeal and Matthews will have logged tons of minutes by the time MU goes to Madison next season, and they'll still get humiliated.  This game wasn't decided by "experience."  Poor shooters and poor shooters, and bad coaching is bad coaching.  MU can't overcome those handicaps.

If you did not see all the finger pointing and the in your face jestures than you were not paying attention.  Jubilation and emotion is one thing directing it at your opponents in ataunting fashion is bush league.  I stand by my statement

Today was Tucker's 108th career game and Taylor's 93rd.  That's a ton of experience.  By comparison, this was the sophomore's 41st game.  Experience means a lot.

My original post was about why Tucker looks more NBA ready than our sophomores.  It had nothing to do with why MU lost today.  Please read the thread before ripping me.

As someone alluded to before, Diener did that all the time.  Did you get all pissed about that too, or was that ok because he was on our team?

i think what tucker did was completly acceptable why does he not deseved to show a little emotion doing what he did to us.  Did anyone see the clip of wade after he won against uw he was pumping and clapping and screaming with the team.  this is usually the biggest game each season for each time at this point in the season (maybe not us this year due to Fuke) a great testing site for what lays ahead.  I think what he did was fine and reasonable to see.

sometimes guys here get so upset when it is anyone else but mu, it is the same guys to who want to cash in the game and season and team when mu doesnt win.  That is another thing needed to be talked about on this site.  We will not win every game and for you fans out there not saying it is anyone in particular you know who you are one loss or two and already to give up, that is sad.  That is borderline fair weather fan syndrome.  if you are a true fan you roll with the lose admit a good defeat and wait for the next game day, seems to many fans here are willing to sell out a player or team cause of a lose but then the next week after a win they are right back on the bandwagon and on thier soapbox telling us all how they have always loved MU.

Sorry, End of Rant

I agree with most of your rant, but I think the "many" you refer to are only a vocal minority.

the entire student section was chanting "f the badgers" each time they came out for pregame warmup.  who wouldn't take the opportunity to show us up after that classless act?

They did?  Crap.  Well, I guess I'm going to have to apply the Double Standard Rule, were it's OK for us to do it, but not them.  Whew.
