Way too depressed and angry to stick around for UCLA/Texas A&M.
I thought the Georgetown loss was difficult to swallow, this is a whole new monster. After taking the 11 point lead before halftime, all the momentum, I thought this was our night. Stanford quickly closed the gap and it was pretty tight the rest of the way. Tie ball game with the clock running down in regulation, hot hand McNeal takes the 3 that doesn't go down. Proceeds to drill a few in OT. Had the lead in OT with the clock winding down, and McNeal misses a great look.
So many things get magnified after a tough loss like this. The boys played their asses off, and had a few opportunities to escape with a win. Unfortunately, not meant to be.
The arena got MUCH louded when Stanford made its runs rather than when Marquette did. Definitely a pro-Stanford crowd. The amount of UCLA blue in the building was sick. Feel bad for Texas A&M, there is nothing neutral about it. I'm hoping they pull the upset.
Nice meeting the superfans in the front of the student section. Nice being able to vent on the shuttle back after the game.
Great trip, had fun at the MU functions at the team hotel. Weather was fantastic. I'm ready to come home now. Time to look forward to next season...
MUBB, hope you had a great time on your visit to SoCal. It was great meeting you. Who knows, maybe our paths will cross again in the future.
