I bought 9 tickets for friends .. a friend who I'm giving two said he only needed one, so I called up a few MU friends to give them an early xmas present: a freebie to the biggest game of the year.
Calls:
1. Not home
2. Ooh, I'd love to, but I got a guy coming over to watch the game .. can't get a hold of him to stop him.
3. Not home
4. Ooh, I really want to, but my kid has (insert kid thing here) until 1:30. (This is why mu_hilltopper has already said NO EXTRACURRICULARS for his 5 month old.)
But this one takes the cake:
5. Um, wow. Gosh. Today's not good. I HAVE SEVERAL BOXES OF UNOPENED CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS I NEED TO PUT UP.
(I needed a good 20 seconds to answer that, as, like a cartoon character, my top blew off and little birds flew out of my ears.)
Now, to her credit, she isn't a basketball fan, but did go to MU with me. I explained, dear sweet uninformed alum, THIS IS THE SUPERBOWL. If you EVER go to a game, THIS IS THE GAME.
Nope. No go. Maybe if I had a few days to prepare, she says. But, but, you have 4 hours!!! That's plenty of time. Nope.
Wow. Now that's someone who doesn't have the fever.
LET'S GO WARRIORS!!!
You really have to check your friends out more closely in the future. Obviously none of them have their priorities in the proper order!
I'll take tickets!!! but need two kinds simultaneously.. game tickets AND air fare tickets.. can ya swing em? :)
but seriously.. you call those friends??? :P at the very least, go find out if any students got left outside because they're out of seats or something and give them the extra tickets..
ah man.. you got some quick work to do to redeem yourself.. there MIGHT be an empty seat in the building because of you!!! :P
Have no fear, we reached out to the next tier of MU friends, and found someone to fill the seat with gold!
I'm still recovering from that "I gotta put up xmas decorations" thing, though.
oh thank god.. I was about to start a telethon for you! close call *whew* no more of those today!!!!
