Scoring down, but pace seems to favor MU

Written by: Emmett Prosser

It appears Marquette's game game plan is to take Kentucky's defenders off the dribble as much as possible.

Even David Cubillan just took the ball to the basketI I'm not sure if he's done that since the non-conference portion of the schedule. However, fellas, it's called a lift move...use it. Stevenson has three blocked shots already for the Wildcats.

With a quickness advantage, Marquette needs to stay away from the three-point looks. Dominic James just took the ball to the rim and got fouled. I don't think UK has a defender that can stay with him one-on-one. McNeal should write "No threes" on James' shoes at halftime.

Marquette's defensive intensity could use a boost though.  No deflections, few turnovers and UK is getting too much off the dribble.

McNeal just nailed a three and it is 29-26, MU with 3:29 to play.

What are your thoughts on the first half? Is the game going according to plan, or is this too close for comfort for Marquette nation?
