Title: Stanford and Marquette...what the San Jose Mercury News says

Mark Purdy cover's the Elite Eight Plan for Stanford to be among the Eight Elite:

6. Funnel Marquette to the middle. The Cardinal's likely second-round opponent, Marquette, could cause issues with its good guards. But because the Golden Eagles aren't an especially good three-point-shooting team (35.3 percent), the guards all love driving to the basket. Fine. Let them. The Lopez twins will be there to block and gobble up the ball.

7. Time to Harbaugh up. If all of the above goes well, Stanford probably would face No. 2 seed Texas in Houston a week from Friday. That would be a perfect time to summon Stanford football coach Jim Harbaugh for a little pep talk.

This week, Harbaugh has a conflict of interest - his brother-in-law is Marquette Coach Tom Crean. But after Marquette is gone, with the tough Longhorns up next, Coach Jimmy could reprise his "At Stanford, we bow to no program" defiance. My suggested update: "At Stanford, we hook to no horns."

I guess that's a vote for us, right?!?

If we both get that far, my only question will be ......

Is it the Cardinal vs. Golden Eagles ..... or, Indians vs. Warriors?
