MUHoops85 is actually my wife and a passionate graduate of Marquette University. As season ticket holders we do have 2 lower bowl tickets reserved for us at the Honda Center in Ahaheim that we are required to pay for whether we go or not.
Flights to Anaheim/Los Angeles are priced slightly above insane but we can fly to Vegas tomorrow morning and drive to Anaheim for $448 each plus $250 for the car all weekend. I don't want to go, partially because I hate flying and partially because I am convinced that they are going to lose on Thursday and my wife is impossible to be around when that happens (You should have seen her at the final four in 2003).
The upside to the Vegas thing is if they do lose, we drive back to Vegas and hang out there until the return on Sunday.
What would you do?
I'm confused. Why are you required to pay for tickets?
As season tix holders, I filled out the form for the tournament and asked my hubby is there any place you would not go?
(Last year I didn't check the site where we were sent)
he said no, so I checked them all. We are guaranteed tickets and MU tix office charges our card, even if we do not use them.
Go with your lovely fanatical wife and enjoy yourself!
Glad to see there is someone exactly like me on this board (your wife!)
We went to St Louis for first round against Tulsa with the whole family, it was a LONG car ride home. Went to New Orleans for the final four, I think I was clinically depressed.
My hubby is an MU grad but nowhere near the fanatic I am being raised that way from the cradle.
After 25 years he puts up with me.
Have fun
Go Warriors
He forgot to mention, I am a CPA and it's also my high holiday (besides MU Bbball)
I would like to go out on Wed, come back on Fri. Either way, I have fun and then I can work Sat/Sun and get back on track at work.
Coming back on Sunday would be too difficult with work.
What he didn't mention is that we have a bad road record for Men's BBall

2007 - Depaul
We are better at the ladies - upset at Depaul last year and win at Cincy.
Don't know if that influences anyone's opinion.
If you can - go! Forget superstitions.
Superstitions are for witches. And Coaches.
Muhoops85, have you considered taking another "male companion" or just hooking up in CA? If you're that passionate about Warrior basketball, that's what I would do. ;D

I believe we are too old to use the phrase, "hooking up". There's probably a law against it. If not, there should be.
I was just looking out for Ziggy.
hey, just go! i know there's a few hundred MU students that would love to go, but can't due to lack of steady income -- hopefully the people who can afford to drop a thou on travel expenses will do so and represent in Anaheim!!! It sure beats not even being able to watch the game at home in Chitown-land!
Otherwise, MUHoops85, ask another fanatical friend to accompany you if that's ok by Mr. MUHoops85 ;)
Based on your avatar, are you in the band?
Will the band be there?
I am no longer in band, though I wish I could be! Yes, the MU band will be in attendance as far as I know ;)
