While Ousmane Barro and Dwight Burke have had occasional moments this season when they have played pretty well, they were so outmatched against Syracuse that it was torturous to watch.
Once again, we fielded a team with three guards (more, at times) who are pretty solid and who are asked to carry the team during every minute of every game.
Barro and Burke are irrelevant bordering on invisible. They instill no fear in the hearts of our opponents because they are so inadequate.
Syracuse clobbered Marquette because Syracuse's big men clobbered MU's big men. And as in too many other games, our guards were not playing well enough to compensate for the taller players on their team who lack skills, consistency and reliability.
Strong guards win games, strong big men win championships.
I hope I am wrong, but I see us as one and done in the Big East and in the NCAA tournaments.

Well since the first round games aren't championship games, then we should be fine...right? ;)
Something that after about 8 years, Crean still has not learned how to recruit. Oh well, maybe he will this out in another say 8 years.
