The cuse was just killing us inside, scoring almost at will. the lack of quality size inside is brutal.
None of our bigs are effective offensively. No knock on Trevor, he is to green.
No inside game coupled with poor outing shooting is a bad combination that eliminates you quickly in a tournament.
throw in no mid-range game and that just about covers it - we still have the fast break though :)
Putting Lazar at the foul line when attacking is laughable. He cannot handle the ball there. Trevor looked lost, DJ was awful early, and when you're outshot 18-1 from the foul line in the first half, you have no chance.

I don't think it is fair to comment on Trevor. He is just not ready yet. To expect he will be able to contribute meaningfully in the post season is unrealistic.
Same ol, Same ol, same ol, same ol Same ol.
Every year the same with Cean. No bigs. Every loss this year in Big East was against opponents who killed us inside.
Wake up Creanpuff and get some quality bigs. Likely one and done in BE and Big Dance. Same thing every year.
guys, you're all stating the obvious..., we all know we have no bigs- when healthy Trevor should be a 4, and TC tried to put him there w/ Blackledge. He just isn't ready. The real question is;
WHERE WAS HAYWARD? We could have at least been in the game if he had played within himself, let the game come to him.
How deep did their center catch the ball today? He was on the block, with the ball the entire second half. Force the guy out a little. Trevor will be decent next year. I think D Burke may have been our best Defensive option @ center today. Ousmane was nowhere man.

I agree about the bigs. But possibly, just maybe, Crean's recruiting Chris Otule shows that he is learning we need some.

Hayward was on the floor being dominated by bigger, more athletic players, like he always is when we play teams of this caliber. He is a very good player, but woefully miscast at the 4 when we play the big boys.
I don't blame Crean the coach for our lack of success against zones, I blame Crean the GM. To be successful against a zone you need a post player who commands a double team and a couple of consistent range bombers. We don't have those things.
What we do have is a bunch of guards who can harrass you into mistakes. So why we didn't make the game a full court game by applying full court pressure for 40 minutes? Why we didn't try that against a team that is too big for us too handle inside but has a very, very short bench is beyond me.
