I do not have a rivals account, so I cannot read this article, but if anyone who has rivals and is willing to post the article it would be great!

Info per the Badger scout board.
"The story is just for paying subscribers, however, but I will say that he will try to announce his decision on March 9,2009 to honor his late mother.
If for some reason he has not come to a decision by then, he will announce it at Horlick's senior banquet."
Your telling me we got to wait a year to here from this guy?
I have never planned for anything more than 4 months in advance and I am 26. Jamil Wilson who is 17 is planning things a year and 2 weeks ahead of time. Maybe Jamil Wilson is like Rain Man?
That is ridiculous, maybe it is a typo and should be 2008. Usually recruits will sign in November of their senior year, with a few waiting until spring. Is this some sort of a stunt, as if he was a LeBron James player? I hope not. I have been a huge Wilson advocate and his signing would be instrumental in MU's future following the loss of James, McNeal, Burke and Matthews. He is an elite player and unless Wilson has advised the staff under the table that he will commit to MU, I don't believe Crean will and can wait that long (spring 2009 signing period) holding a crucial scholarship slot.

Definitely not a typo. He said just a few weeks ago that he wasn't planning on making a decision until after his senior season. Of course that could change, DeMarcus Cousins said he wasn't going to decide for a few months, added MU and other schools to his list, then verballed to UAB a week later.
I watched him play against West Allis Hale on Friday night. Horlick beat Hale, but I was underwhelmed by Wilson. He was held to 14 points by Hale's Rick Wagner, a big 6'8" lad that will be playing football at UW (and who had 23 points in the loss). I know one game doesn't tell the entire story, but he played with an attitude, and was lucky he didn't get thrown out of the game. He was called for a technical, and the way he pranced around after the T came perilously close to getting T #2. An adult came down from the crowd--don't know if it was his father or AAU coach or what, to calm him down.
Horlick lost on Saturday to Brookfield Central--but Wilson had a better game (I didn't see it), scoring 37.
If he's waiting that long, I would bet we don't get him. Life will go on.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but Jamil Wilson is announcing this Saturday. Any thoughts on Marquettes chances?
He's announcing in 2009, not 2008.
what I heard was not this sunday but a year from sunday.. 3/9/2009...

I'm going to go with an equally small sample size, but I watched him play at the WBY Shootout in December, and saw some similar things. First, I do have to say he was very good with his teammates and encouraging them. I did notice he has a tendency to get down on himself though, and does let the refs temporarily take him out of the game mentally. One thing I noticed was after he picked up his fourth foul in that game, he went to go get water during a huddle, and started talking to some Horlick students by the bench.
We do have to remember though, he's still only a Junior and has gone through a very rough year. I'm willing to cut him some slack.
Just to clear up any confusion, here's the link to the discussion of Jamil's announcement.
The date quoted by the publisher of UW's Scout site is March 9, 2009

I think it is the 7th post down.
I am underwhelmed by the wisconsin talent pool - onto Texas, Philly and NYC.
I don't know anything about what it is written in various places, but it is worth nothing that on the calendar I have, there is indeed a Saturday, March 8, 2008.
There is no such date as Saturday, March 8, 2009.
Sounds like a typo, even if the announcement isn't the day after tomorrow.
PS: post-posting mea culpa. I'm realizing that there are inconsistencies within the thread about what date is supposedly written about his announcement. Suffice it to say that I think looking a calendar might help figure out if there is a typo. Back to reading about this year's team rather than sticking my foot in my mouth about the future.
Unless Wilson has provided TC with a "silent" verbal, TC cannot wait that long holding a scholarship. This will also be the case with the other programs Wilson is considering. With all the recent national television appearances and with, hopefully a good showing in the BE and NCAAs, MU should get interest from numerous 2009 elite recruits. Tyshawn Taylor, please talk to your running mate, Dominic Cheek.
I'm in awe of this thread. This is a new low in speculating on a recruit.
Somebody wake me when he decides.

Maybe for Marquette, but this is nothing for the likes of Kentucky. They are relentless over there.

I think people need to take it easy on this kid and his perceived outbursts. He has gone through some very emotional things in this life and I could see an outburst or two happening in an extremely competitive environment. At 17, he probably has more pressure on him from his friends, neighbors and family then most people had throughout college.
Quotehe was very good with his teammates and encouraging them
He doesn't sound like a kid with an attitude problem, just someone who has been through a lot.

Personally I don't get the whole speculation thing. If the kid wants to come to MU, he will. If he doesn't he won't. Trying to read the signs isn't productive. You'd be better off considering how many angles can dance on the head of a pin or whether if a tree falls in the forest and doesn't make a sound, did it really fall.
You may actually come up with an answer to those questions faster than figuring out what the motivations are in a 17 year old kid.

And if you look back at my post you'll see I clearly said this. I wasn't trying to be hard on him at all, just reporting what I saw.
Look it up home boys, I called two weeks ago that this clown was holding out until this summer to blow up....doesn't seem like he wants to go to Marquette or Wisconsin, waiting for the "big" schools to come calling. They don't call me esoteric mind guy for nothing.
He is ranked in the top 20 in the country. He blew up last summer.
The "big schools" already have come calling. ::)

How much more can he "blow up"? He's already rated top 10 nationally for his class.
and plays for US U18 team if I am correct?

If he holds out his decision until March 9th, not many of the big schools may not hold a scholarship for him...
What amazes me is the negative talk here about a potential recruit. Why risk making feel like he should go else where based on fan reaction here. While in the long run what goes on here probably makes no difference, I think the criticism here is uncalled for and just plain stupid.
