Title: Trouble between KO and Lute Olson
Post by: drewm88 on March 02, 2008, 02:10:02 PM
CBS just reported that things have gone south between KO and Lute, jeopardizing the plan of KO taking over when Lute retires. Lute will be at the game today to participate in Senior Day activities. He has been in his office every day recently, meeting with players. They said if things don't get repaired in the offseason, expect Lute to be back sans KO next year.

KO on the move?  I don't believe it.

Talk about opportunists - KO is no Lute.

This is not KO's fault at all. Lute needs to pack it in. KO was put in a awkard position and has done a good job.

Since we're on the topic of Arizona basketball I thought I would mention how underrated of a PG I think Jaryd Bayless is from 'Zona. DJ Augustine gets a lot of pub for being the best PG in the nation, however, I think Bayless is right up there with him. In fact, Bayless is more explosive going to the hoop and a better outside shooter than Augustine. Also, Arizona is one of those middle of the pack BCS conference teams that if you get something like a 7 or 8 seed you would have to match up with in the first round of the NCAA's. I would want no part of teams like that(just see Alabama and MSU the past 2 years). That's why we need a 5 or 6 seed at worst.

I know this is an extremelly debatable topic, but I would have to go with Darren Collison as the best PG in the nation right now.  He's a born winner, no doubt about it.  I think a PG should be measured on his leadership abilities, which Collison dominates.  I definitly agree that Bayless is incredibly underrated though.

One problem. Bayless won't be a point guard again in the next two weeks when Nic Wise comes back.
