I hate the stupid format and for two games, was thinking this was a no for me, but now I'm entertaining the thought again.
MU travel pros - please give us thoughts.
All of the Atlantis properties look pricey... money ain't no thang for a balla like me, but I'm still frugal. There's a chance I would go SOLO to this. Small chance a girl would go with me. Stay options (maybe Monday - Sunday) would be an Atlantis proper spot, Comfort Suites (that, as I understand, has access rights to most/all of the Atlantis private stuff), or RIU (all inclusive??). Any insights on stay considerations I should make, please advise.
Are the water parks and other attractions at Atlantis cool or dumb if you're not a kid? What other activities are there besides eat and drink (which I love btw)? What activities are good around that area as a whole, outside of Atlantis? Are 7 days including 2 travel days too much or too little? How much should I expect to spend on tickets to games? Any known or expected Marquette-sponsored events? Would lean toward no car - easy to get around, yes?
There are pickleball courts at Atlantis, but the programming looks dumb and would potentially need to find other players and reserve a court together to get some real play in. Any pickleball courts accessible on the island by the public?
Food & drink - grocery stores, markets, booze stores? Easy to eat 'cheap' if desired?
The other "division" doesn't entice me -- Memphis, Miss St., Penn St., Wake, but the women's group has some teams.. Notre Dame (yuck), Florida.. WVa, Davison.
The water parks are perfect for solo travel for a mid 50s guy.
