I know there are a lot of Sally's running around here, but I'm sure some of you are into fitness.
My gym is two blocks away, but looking to add some at-home calisthenics. After a July diet I'm sitting at just over 6' and about 170 pounds. Would like to add a routine to improve flexibility (pawz) but also strengthen chest and core.
Any advice on good programs or specific exercises I should look at (YouTube, apps or elsewhere)? Also, what are some mats I should look at on Amazon? Don't want to pour sweat on my carpet. Simple, easy to clean, big enough, and want to roll up and throw in the basement or garage when not in use.

Define "Sally"
See if you can find a relatively cheap rowing machine. The best are going to be the Concept 2. A lot of people bought them during COVID and have been trying to dump them. Also a couple 30 lb dumbells wouldn't hurt either. There are all sorts of at-home exercises you can do with that simple equipment to strengthen your core and chest.
As far as flexibility goes, a physical therapist recommended this...and yeah the title is bizarre.

You also may want to find a good yoga app as well.
Tons of good at-home routines here, most of which don't require a membership.

I used the Peloton App, and you can get an "App Only" membership for $12.99/month (for people without the bike, rower, or tread). The classes are excellent, IMO; you can target certain parts of your body with every class and even see the specific exercises before choosing them. They also have cardio and yoga classes.
I subscribed to ALO's app during covid and highly recommend it. They rebranded it "ALO Wellness Club" recently, which is a lame name, but they removed all paywalls and now its free. I found a couple instructors I like and I still work their classes in between going to the gym or whatever. Dylan Werner is awesome for strength classes. Patrick Beach's classes are great and a bit more yogi-y which I begrudgingly admit I've taken a liking to. Calvin Corzine for his ab stuff.
Core strength? This is all you need:

You might improve to your desired flexibility if you get a rib or two removed

The serpent from Eden and the Ouroboros do have some metaphorical parallels I agree
I am going on 80. I am 5'8" and weigh 147 pounds. I walk our 100 pound lab 3 days a week (about 0.8 of a mile). Now that it is summer I swim at least 20 laps in our 40 ft pool twice a week. I guess that is not really working out but it works for me.
Best core exercises are crunches on a large exercise ball and dead bugs.
Get some dumbbells and/or kettlebells for everything else. You could also get some adjustable wall-mounted exercise band anchors and some resistance bands.

Time to put that lab on a diet.

Actually our vet says he is at weight for his frame. He is just a big lab.

This explains so much
I live on pushups, planks, squats (with or without weights), and jumping rope. All at home, all free, whenever it's convenient. Works for me--not much time commitment, and it's pretty easy to keep at it pretty much every day.
Just go to hot yoga. Lots of cute women you can pretend you'll talk to.
As far as at home. You can do a lot with a bench, mat, and free weights.
