Title: MU UP 11 In 2nd Half...
Post by: 4everwarriors on March 01, 2008, 05:22:33 PM
and loses at home. Game showed me we're not there yet. As much as anything, GU won a very tough game in a very tough venture. Got to give them their due. Wallace's 3 free throws into the student section to send the game to OT spoke to his toughness. When Marquette learns to close out top caliber teams you'll know they've arrived. Until that time, close is not good enough. Really thought today was going to be another W.

You could kinda tell once we went up 11 that G-Town was going to make a run. I was hoping Crean would have used a pre-emptive TO when they cut it to 7. Just got a gut feeling that MU wasn't going to extend that lead too much, this was never going to be a blow out type game. Crean ended up calling a TO when it was cut to five, but it was following Barro's charge as MU was setting up their offense. I forgot who it was on GT that took that charge, but it was a pretty intelligent play on their end.

totally agree 4ever. We are 1-5 against Top 4 in the conference. That really validates your point.
