Superbar has no spaces and capitalization is reserved for the first letter. Fail.
The only call they should make is to the same person they should have offered the position to when Alvarez retired a few years ago: ISU AD Jamie Pollard (from Wisconsin and previously served in their athletic department).
He has done really incredible things at Iowa State and has made a few great hires (Campbell, Hoiberg, Otz).
F them.

Along with Marquette Women's basketball.

McIntosh was Barry's hand picked successor. I don't know how much influence the Godfather Barry has now, though. This will be a very interesting hire for Bucky.
Pollard would be a grand slam hire. What's Shawn Eichhorst up to? I always thought he'd be MU's next AD after Cords until he went to Miami
Hopefully they'll hire someone stoopid. In other words, someone who will give Gard a lifetime contract.

Alvarez has no influence. UW is also lacking a System President and a Chancellor too so who knows.

This. It's an attractive job because it's the Big 18 but the system is a mess right now. I'd hire Willie
A Scoop Collective should apply and run them in the ground.

Or...we just leave the UW to their own devices and let them continue running themselves into the ground.

If the next AD isn't Eric the Red, they're doomed

are Swenson and BBFran still hanging around Bucky boards?

Not sure. I was just shocked that an insider like Eric the Red didn't break the news on Twitter. He got caught flat footed again
Why are so many here interested in the University of Washington athletic department?
Sounds like many Badgers fans have been hoping and praying for the end of the Macintosh era for years now. When the madison paper has this as a headline on a column, it makes one wonder if Macintosh knew he wasn't doing well in the job and a new chancellor and president coming in was not going to be good for his job security: "Polzin: McIntosh takes Big Ten lifeboat over fixing Wisconsin mess he helped create."
Yikes. Wonder if he is being pushed toward the door by donors or regents or someone else.
McIntosh gone? How 'bout them apples?

He was obviously pushed out, and I think it was clearly orchestrated to happen after their NIL bill passed the state legislature.
And it's not just because of the lack of football success. Their new indoor practice facility is putting a tremendous financial strain on the department - I think they are still short of the $100 million they were going to raise for the facility. But they have to pay over $100M for it through program debt - not to mention student fees were raised to help as well.
Furthermore, they tore the old "Shell" down, leaving the track team with nowhere to practice, which was a pretty embarrassing situation all around.
They desperately need someone from the outside with new ideas.

This all sounds like good news to me. 8-)

So, as I read this, you are hoping that dysfunction and financial struggles in the UW Athletic department carry on. So, why are you happy that they no longer have the AD in place who is responsible for it all? Seems like you ought to be disappointed that he has moved on. You should have been hoping for continued incompetence and dysfunction.
Now, they have the ability to hire competence after running an actual search for a replacement. Whether they do it or not....
Reading this as "Shaka up in the UW..." makes me laugh more.

True, or I could have been having some fun without putting any real thought into the Madison athletic department issues. We'll let the audience decide. :D
Weasels goalie Daniel Hauser had lost his stick a few seconds before Denver scored the championship-winning goal Saturday.
Afterward, Hauser blamed Markus Howard and wrote Wojo a letter.
Well played, sir.
