We're saying this in multiple threads ... but why not?

I never had a doubt. He stated his love for MU repeatedly. One never needed to read between any lines with him. All one had to do was read the lines themselves!

Stevens and Parham will almost surely be back, too. Add in 2-3 good transfers, which I believe Shaka will, and newcomers like Sheek, Egbuonu and Walker ... and we're ready to roll next season.

He may have cost himself some dollars with that comment. I hope MU still takes care of him financially and pays him what he is worth. I would love to have 2+ more years watching him ball for MU!

I bet the deal is already done. That's how these things often work, I'm told.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Lock him up before the end of the season to avoid a bidding war.

Safe to say the dollars were already officially accounted for before he made the comment

I was at the morning event here in NYC  and actually commented to President Kimo that I hoped we could keep him, and he said he thought he would be staying. For whatever that is worth...

Nice to have your best player also be a leader and set an example.  Him speaking out like this is a big deal.

Yes because Kolek, Kam, Oso and Nigel didn't have bags available to them if they valued that over everything else.........

Stevens and Parham aren't going anywhere.  Until we lose someone we wanted to keep, which hasn't happened yet, there's no reason to expect it.

Yeah, Stevens isn't leaving. I have no information on Royce but I don't think there's any reason to expect him to leave either.

I can confidently say that the bags were already flying at Nigel.

I can't speak on the others, but Nigel was being heavily pursued by many. A fact.

So we spent it all on NJ and now can't compete in portal?? #COLE

Honestly, for being 12-19, I think we all feel a lot better than we would have thought if we knew 12-19 was the result back in October. #pray

Great news. Nigel is setting himself up to have a storied career here.

Unfortunately this won't stop the chicken littles from assuming other decent players will transfer out of the program (it's already happening in this very thread). Kind of pathetic.

No, he didn't make a Twitter post.  These were literally public comments from an interview at MSG.

Yes! No 18 year old has ever said something publicly and then later on changed their minds. Right!
