Congrats to Nigel!
But a little odd that Acaden Lewis was voted 2nd team and lost FOY to a third teamer.
It's all Shaka's fault!
Let's go!
Coaches get it right despite the record. Well done!

I actually wonder if it was the standings. Team success might've helped Lewis to second team, but individual success was on NJ's side.
(At least until NJ wins BET MOP)
big time players deserve big time rewards
Kudos to NJ!

Yup. Even with Shaka conspiring against him, the best freshman was selected as the best freshman.
Congrats to Nigel, even though he didn't get to keep his starting job after Sean Jones came back from injury.

You are taking what I said the wrong way. But that's ok.
Nigel won the award and that's the important part.
Congrats. His emergence this year created a lot of optimism for the near future. What a player.

Yeah, a little overly snarky on my part. Must be the war getting to me.
Again, congrats to Nigel.
Well deserved. Kudos!
NJJ speaking to the MU coaching staff: "you guys never switched up on me, and that's why I'll never switch up on you either"
NJJ has offered the prospect of hope during this down, down year.

Sure, but they selected Ajayi from Butler to 1st Team, despite it having 4 forwards on the 1st Team, and just 1 guard - Demary. Nigel should have been a 1st team All Big East player too, beyond Freshman of the year.

In spite of Shaka!

As I've said over and over again, he really loves Shaka and Marquette, and he ain't going anywhere else.

True. You said Shaka would have to start Sean, even though Nigel was clearly several standard deviations better, or Sean might leave.
In Big East play, Nigel averaged 19.3 points on .493 shooting (.386 from 3), 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 steals.
Pretty damn impressive.
Even had more blocked shots (8), than OMax did in any season!

James will be on the pre-season all-BE team next season.

Wrong again!
I said I THOUGHT Shaka would start Sean because he'd end up leaving if he was overtaken. I was wrong.
Shaka didn't and Sean is on his way out and Nigel is thankfully our PG and Freshman of the Year!
