MU/Michigan starting home & home next season in Ann Arbor. Return game the following season in Milwaukee.
Congrats to the scooper who broke the news first. Should be a good one. Will try and get over there for that one.
It'd be cool if this game was scheduled for a November Friday night or Sunday that lined up with a home football game in Ann Arbor. I've been to a couple of football games there and it would make a GREAT weekend road trip.
I predict a team with both shades of blue & yellow in its colors and the letters M & U in its abbreviation will win.
If these squads are anything like this year's iterations, this has a buy-game box score written all over it. I think our core will make huge strides, and with a little love from the portal, this could be competitive.
Either way, this is awesome for our schedule and I can't wait to drag my in-laws (Michigan folks) up to Milwaukee to show them a good time.

Just last week, my wife and I were in the car sitting at a stoplight. A guy on a bike pulled up next to us and signaled me to roll down the window. I did, and he asked, "Are you from Michigan?" When I said no, he said, "Oh, I saw the Marquette sticker on the back of your car, so I thought you were from Michigan."
"Nope. I went to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin."
Sigh.

Hopefully you ran him off the road to teach him a lesson.

Its all the weather channels fault.

I saw a tweet saying it'll be November 11th which is a Wednesday. I live about 45 minutes from AA so I'll be there regardless but I was hoping for a weekend game also
The elimination of the Gavitt Games has had zero effect on Marquette's ability to schedule top-level Big Ten opponents annually.

In HS, when I told people in MI I was going to Marquette, the frequent response was "it's cold up there," thinking of Northern Michigan Univ. However, the other response I would get is "Butch Lee" or "Bo Ellis" from the older guys I played basketball with.
Bummed it's on a Wednesday. My niece will be a junior at UM, and I was hoping to visit her for a weekend game.

Planes run during the week as well. Live a little! Maybe I'll go to and try to take in a women's game. HS classmate's daughter is an all american on UMICH wbb.

Those transfers better be studs.

I can drive there from home but, like I said, I was hoping for a weekend game to take in more of Ann Arbor.
My wife's sister is a professor at UM...but we wouldn't be visiting her, LOL!

I'm from Michigan, west side of the state, and when I told people I was going to college at Marquette lots of them thought I meant Marquette, Michigan. So I had to say Marquette University in Milwaukee, and even then some people acted like I said I was going to college on the moon. To them I'd always say, "It's only about 80 miles away."
I just saw that Marquette Michigan got clobbered with snow. How much did Milwaukee get.

I'm from Michigan also (Detroit area) and 50% of the time when I tell someone I went to Marquette they say "oh it's really cold up there" and I always say "yeah it's cold in Milwaukee" and then they scramble
Shaka's boys in for a big time ass whooping. The high school team from Marquette MI might have a better chance than the team Marquette University is currently putting out on the floor.

Wait till you find out the game isn't till next year so the current roster's irrelevant.

He doesn't care. He announced 4 years ago that he was "done" with Marquette basketball.
Beautiful, another game for experience, relationship and growth!

Happily I didn't waste time watching a single game this year.

It's always a gift when Fartley69 (pictured below) drops in to share his pearls of wisdom and insightful takes.

Fartley is usually in front of the computer "dropping his pearls". Some people shouldn't have offspring... that must be the PG picture version.
