The way he looked in warm-ups. I don't see how he could play. He wasn't using his normal motion to shoot and he only shot layups right handed. I'm not sure if he can lift his left arm above his shoulder.

Maybe he was playing possum, but I'm not gonna be surprised if he doesn't last too long.

An ugly stretch once Shaka went to the bench. Owens is working harder on D than he was early in the year, but he sure hates contact when he attacks the hoop on O. Norman and Hamilton were not good.

Shaka is lost here.  You have a team that can't defend more than 10 minutes, can't shoot, turns the ball over, and can't hit free throws.      The second half might be surprise turn-around.    But.... This year..... tough.

The entire team was a disgrace there but really nothing is more befuddling and infuriating than Chase Ross being such a worthless, gutless offensive player in a situation the team absolutely needs an upperclassman to just go and get a fking bucket. He's just such a coward. Every single time he touches the ball he slows everything to a halt with a couple tepid sideways dribbles and then defers by passing it further away from the hoop. It's unreal that, amongst the enormous growth of players like Tyler and Stevie and Kam and OMax, Chase somehow has failed to learn even a single meaningful dribble move or develop enough confidence to take a single defender one-on-one.

I remain firm in my belief that, rivaled only by Caedin starting 15 games, Shaka's most obscene failure this year was believing Chase fking Ross could be the best scorer on a serious basketball team.

Never. The last time we lost to them twice in one season was 1990-91. We were in the MCC and they were still independent.

As much as I've hated Chase this year, credit where it's due, nice shot and steal there. You're an agonizingly one-handed slasher. You BETTER be able to confidently go to the rim when you're moving downhill on your strong hand! That's your one offensive skill!

I'd be pretty surprised if Nigel doesn't explore other options. This team could make the tournament with 4 significant additions, but he could also just go somewhere else for more money and be in a much better position to make the tournament as well.

Here you go.

MU leading rebounder today: James with 7
                            Gold had 2
                            Parham had 4

Benson from Depaul had 16 alone.

Handwriting has to be on the wall soon.  Hamilton sat the whole second half and Clark has not played more than a minute in last month.  One or both of these players are probably going to the portal, or they would have seen more action in such a brutal embarrassment game.  Shaka's projects or experiments with the two players has reached its end.

so disheartening to see such poor play. This team has multiple major flaws. Shaka has a LOT of work to do.

Quote from: CountryRoads on Today at 05:25:23 PMThis isn't the worst reality check to have. There was a little too much "we're playing like a tourney team" for my liking lately. So, yes we still need to cut several players and replace them via the portal as promised in the Xavier game.
Literally no one here has said they're playing "like a tournament team" but clearly have been better than December and November.. until this game at least
