The way he looked in warm-ups. I don't see how he could play. He wasn't using his normal motion to shoot and he only shot layups right handed. I'm not sure if he can lift his left arm above his shoulder.

Amazing how often we simply cannot grab the ball.
Very sluggish start.
Did Ben touch that on the rim?
This DePaul team is horrible.
We better win by double digits.
Oh...boy.
Whew.
Good D by CH!
Ugly few mins.

Playing Tre Caedin screams we do Not care about winning
An ugly stretch once Shaka went to the bench. Owens is working harder on D than he was early in the year, but he sure hates contact when he attacks the hoop on O. Norman and Hamilton were not good.

And don't get me started on FT no matta bs.
I can't believe Ross is doing this.
His shoulder is just hanging there.
Drive it - take it in all the time. Then if you want to kick it out ok.

26 points combined in the first 13 minutes. We thought UW game were low scoring.
5-16, 0-6 from distance.. And 3-8 from.the stripe.

Men against boys. The tougher team is winning at the moment.
Wow. From up 5 to down 7. Need to hit some shots and FTs. I'd same regression to the mean is on our side but this year..... tough. Let's do this! Let's Go Marquette!!
1 for 5 from the line
26% shooting

Wow, just wow.

DePaul packing in the D because MU can't shoot.

13 points at the 3 minute mark
Lets start a discussion on how well we are playing. Atrocious.
This team sucks!!!!
A point a minute is not good
This has early season ugliness written all over it.

Playing hurt is stupid. We'd be better with healthy bodies out there.

Two front end free throws, no threes 0 for like 10, Vaseline on hands, lineup changes by Shaka early. 13 points in 16 minutes. Impossible
Really tough to watch and to listen to, these announcers are brutal bad.
Worst half of year, embarrassing, Shaka should be livid. This is a home game against DePaul.....
Holtman has to smile every time he gets any player on MU shooting a 3. Unless Stevens or James starts knocking down some shots, MU is in trouble. Parham is again showing his lack of strength when trying to compete inside. Really poor half for MU.
The shots are there. The offense is creating shots. We just can't hit a dang shot. Wow.
Pretty brutal basketball so far. Some of these marquette shots aren't even close
Marquette gets slammed dunking but we let DePaul dunk
Worst team in my 60 years of being season ticket holders and going games
Uh....this ain't good. In fact, it may be the worst half of hoops in MU history.
Pisspoor play. This team is clueless and so is Shaka Kahn. Adios.
Wow. Norman and Phillis with some embarrassing D. The coaching response to what DePaul is doing defensively is nonexistent.
We have reached absolute zero.
I've never left a game at halftime before but I think today is going to be the day.
It doesn't get much lower than this
Just when you think "boy things are really improving"
This honestly redefines the word embarrassment. I don't care if we're banged up.
Poor execution in every aspect of the game. The worst half I can remember. At home. Against DePaul. Omg. Yikes.
This is one of the most pathetic halves of basketball I've ever seen.
What an asinine foul by Ross.
BLOW IT UP
I stopped watching MU games weeks ago. Lately followed on the ESPN score app to keep my distance. Finally decided today that I wanted to see the new Parham so I have been watching. I will no longer doubt that what I do impacts games. TV is off

Quote from: Daniel on March 01, 2026, 03:53:21 PMThe shots are there. The offense is creating shots. We just can't hit a dang shot. Wow.
Of course, but they are getting killed on boards, defense is giving up dunks and layups, have 10 turnovers and they left 8 points at free throw line.
14 points, is that a record? Maybe someone could look up
That was flat out embarrassing.
Totally embarrassing, well in two weeks the team for next year can change very quickly. I see opportunity at every position except point.
Okay.....I was looking for the "bottom"....
Losing to DePaul by 20 at home pretty much should do it....
LOL!
I want to hear Shaka's spin after this fiasco.....
Shaka is lost here. You have a team that can't defend more than 10 minutes, can't shoot, turns the ball over, and can't hit free throws. The second half might be surprise turn-around. But.... This year..... tough.
When was the last time DePaul swept us in league play?
Not much to say. Just a dreadful, embarrassing display of MU basketball.
Time to bring Wardle home?
This should clarify for Shaka that he's not just a player or two away. Good Lord! Beyond James, Stevens, and Parham, I see nothing. And those three have all been awful today.
These string beans that Shaka recruits are totally overmatched physically in the BE.

"DePaul played well on both ends. We have to get better executing our plays and hitting more shots. Our guys never quit. Have to be proud of that."
The entire team was a disgrace there but really nothing is more befuddling and infuriating than Chase Ross being such a worthless, gutless offensive player in a situation the team absolutely needs an upperclassman to just go and get a fking bucket. He's just such a coward. Every single time he touches the ball he slows everything to a halt with a couple tepid sideways dribbles and then defers by passing it further away from the hoop. It's unreal that, amongst the enormous growth of players like Tyler and Stevie and Kam and OMax, Chase somehow has failed to learn even a single meaningful dribble move or develop enough confidence to take a single defender one-on-one.
I remain firm in my belief that, rivaled only by Caedin starting 15 games, Shaka's most obscene failure this year was believing Chase fking Ross could be the best scorer on a serious basketball team.
Worst team in 59 years of being a fan! Doing nothing right. Shaka needs to get his s—t together!

DO NOT PUT HAMILTON OR NORMAN IN!!!!
As much as I've hated Chase this year, credit where it's due, nice shot and steal there. You're an agonizingly one-handed slasher. You BETTER be able to confidently go to the rim when you're moving downhill on your strong hand! That's your one offensive skill!

True. But much easier to get a 20 loss season when you play a 32 plus game season than when we played 24-26 games a season
Still, we suck right now

We will likely have the worst winning percentage since Al's first season. 61 years ago.

That really sucks. This is a bad team. Some good players but a bad team

I was fortunate enough to matriculate the year before ('63-'64). Ed Hickey's last year. We were 5-21 and we weren't in the Big East.
This marked the first time DePaul swept the season series since 1990-91. Journal Sentinel

That's fair, but another way of looking at it is that with a .345 winning percentage, this team sits 6th worst in MU history.
Finishing out 0-3 would drop them to 4th worst. Dare to dream of a BE tourney win? That puts them at 5th worst.
FWIW, only one other season in the top 10 occurred within the past 60 years ... 1987-88 under the Piano Man. That season, at least in terms of won-loss, will almost certainly be better than this one, though this team probably wipes the floor with that bunch.
Quote from: Viper on March 01, 2026, 06:46:17 PMagreed!...but, I don't think Shaka 'buzz' cuts anyone. Two newbies via the portal is it...Zaide's spot and i will assume Sean's spot too. Caedin, Tre...back!
Cutting Hamilton and Norman should be an obvious move. MU doesn't owe them anything in this era. With 4 spots to fill, it will be a fun April.
Sun-Times wrote about the game which is uncommon.
"Twice in the first half alone, one Blue Demons player dived to the floor for a loose ball while three Marquette players didn't. That kind of said it all."
