Butler's souls were crushed the other night in Providence. Absolutely no excuses, as you mentioned. Come out strong, get an early double-digit lead, then cruise.
I had FS1 on early for the end of the UCONN women's game. Coming back from a commercial there was a fan with a puppet on one hand and a stick connected to the puppet's hand in the other. She was doing an act as if the puppet was dancing. I never thought I would get in a fist fight at a game but that might do it

The more I dislike a player the better they play against MU. That Fizback kid seems like a great kid
Nice post-up by Parham.
Axe the high hedge!!! Fk. Drives me crazy.
Good power attacks from RP.
Man....Ben just cannot make the open triple this year. Incredibly frustrating.
Ben with a foul 40 feet fron the rim. Smh.

Caedin could of got loose ball or stoped layup
That can't happen. Especially after a t-o.

7 fouls in less than 9 mins? Ughh.
We have a 1950's game going on here
Had a 4 on 2 there. The result shoukd always be a chippie.
Both teams can not shoot 3s we should zone on d and drive on 0 but will we adjust
Whole team is settling for 3s.

With Royce having 2 and done for the half, going to see lots of DO and the young bigs.
I'm starting to hate the number 16
Ross is absolutely killing me on his drives.

A mediocre team, BUTLER'S STARTING BACKCOURT NOT PLAYING.
Two airball threes and an airball three footer. Three circus shot drives by Ross, Gold missing three wide open threes. Missing threes, no problem for Shaka. Thank goodness for Stevens. Missed free throws, including front end. Aggressive defense leading to fouls, one by Gold 40 feet from basket. On and on and on.
Believe MU gets the win with better play, but a loss to this team with two starters missing, at home would be terrible.

4th on RP. Inexcusable line-up btw.
4 on Royce. Huge momentum shift.
Hamilton has been throwing a tantrum out there. Yelling, slapping balls, etc.
Tre Norman slipped and fell for turnover. Then misses a three he should not even take, add in his missed front end free throw. Why is he playing? Especially with Hamilton.

Shaka wasn't wrong about Ben moving better. 10 boards plus he was the primary defender against Ajayi when both were in the game. And Ajayi had a dismal game offensively.
This was my first MU game in attendance since the Wojo era. What a blast!!
The team still isn't where we want it to be, but it is so much better than it was a month or so ago. Glad the young guys continue to progress as at least there is a little something to build on if they stick around.

Well for me I was apparently totally wrong about the need for paint feeds for 3, especially for Parham. P just took care of business whe they left him.open from 3. For those saying stop the high hedging -did they not seem to have solved that problem finally? Non hedger rotation was amazing. Had football like interceptions when they tried to exploit. Just rewatched and was surprised to think CH played ok. Got some steals a couple boards and looked good with the ball of he wasn't trying to score. Was incredibly physical - it was a very physical game and we seemed to be the aggressor- nice change.. Maybe we are really turning a corner. Let's get UCONN.

I don't know, man. I don't think he's a great coach. But he did go to a final four here. And at Indiana I could pretty easily argue that he's been their best coach since Bob Knight. Better than Archie and Woodson for sure. Mike Davis had one miracle run to the title game, which can't be discounted, but Crean significantly outperformed for the rest of their tenures.
He never got it going at Georgia, but nobody ever has besides 2 years of Tubby Smith.
I don't really care if he's up in the rafters. I think it's kind of silly to have him or Hank up there. But he's not a bad basketball coach.
Quote from: burger on February 09, 2026, 07:01:20 AMYou have a point. Take Hank down too....Certainly his head coaching was not stellar.....
Leaving Hank up there does speak to the decades he spent loyal to Marquette....
Crean got lucky on one thing....Wade came to Marquette because no other schools wanted him because of his academic's....(sorry....I am ignoring Southern Illinois)
I guess he didn't have time to get his daughter dressed up in a Marquette cheerleading outfit for the event....
There is so much material....
He had 3 NBA level players on the team and a basketball all time top 20 player and lost by 50....No kidding....Coaching does matter....
Crean is a joke of a coach....And it shows by his career since....
What....He is a fill-in analyst on Peacock????
Always surprised people leave out the triplets and breaking into the BEAST like gangsters.. I also personally very much appreciate bringing Buzz in.. But to each their own etc.
