Refs blew that last call - 3 pt free throw.
Gtown gets too many breaks
That was a foul on James all the way. He should know better. Let the guy take an off balance three and keep the hand in his face. No need to stick yolur hand in and invite the foul call.
McNeal banks the shot and then Hibbert pins it between the rim. How can ANY SHOT coming off the glass and touching an opponent not be goaltending.
Pathetic for them to miss that call.
Definitely a foul on James, not even a question. And while the other call was disappointing, it probably was not goaltending.
Nobody deserved to win this game. GT with all their turnovers, and MU with they way we shot Free Throws and they way we couldn't buy a bucket in the 2nd half.
A put back dunk by Burke? are you kidding me?
GT banks in a 3 pointer with 2 on the shotclock in overtime? are you kidding me?
James fouls a guy shooting a 3 twice??
How many layups did we miss? how many bail out 3s did GT have? how many FT's did we miss?
James turns it over with 8 seconds left, our chance to tie or win it.
Unbelievable but we are not good in close games at the BC, especially on national TV.
A good experience for this team. We are going to the tournament and hopefully this team learns that somebody needs to step up in crunch time.
GT's season of lucky breaks continues.

I think the video shows otherwise. I just watched it about 5 times. The rule is YOU CANNOT touch the ball off the glass. PERIOD. Unless the rule has changed, that is goaltending

I'm curious, what other game did we lose this year at the BC where it was a close game....I'll be waiting for an answer...thanks
Horrible call by the officials, James got all ball.
Of course the moral of the story is never get in a position where the refs can decide the game. A few made free throws and it would not have been an issue.
we've played at the BC for many seasons, amigo
The point is just go up with your hands straight up, it was 15% at best he would have made that shot. don't give the refs a chance. I thought it was a foul when it happened. I admit I haven't watched the replay a bunch of times.

Yes, and won far more close games then lost...amigo
Well Tower - I'll put in the obvious requests for videos - the James "foul" on the three pointer (I thought it was a no call), The ball pinned on the glass, and - the one where the announcers were saying Crean wanted an over the back on Hibbert's offensive rebound - not that "no call" - which I agree with, but on his miss I think Ewing came in and should have been called for a foul on the follow up shot which he made and got the foul. I think he clearly came over the back of our player who had inside position. You can't just come charging into the lane like that on top of everyone already there!
You are right, Chicos. I wasn't thinking. I've turned to negative town.
Hell, even Louisville fans saying it was goaltending
http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=415#s=415&f=2850&t=2123081
and do we really care what Louisville fans think??
nobody deserved to win this game GU with it's turnovers and MU with it's free throws? While the free throws were self inflicted WE caused the turnovers. To lose like this was unnecessary.

When they're seeing obvious calls the refs missed...yes.

Chicos, you're half right. I have a big screen plasma HD TV (one of the few advantages of reaching a certain age) and my 13 year old (much better peepers than me and a devout MU fan) and I watched both plays multiple times in slo-mo and I can say for certain that
1) James fouled Wallace on the left wrist/forearm at the end of regulation
2) Hibbert definitely goaltended the McNeal shot as the ball definitely hit the board before he blocked it and it wasn't really close and it should have been called.
Huge no call...ties the game right there.

Just curious, that last second heave by Hayward (I believe it was Hayward), any contact?
Thanks

warriorfred, Just checked (and for the last time, as we have moved to a DVD for the evening) There was no contact on that play. I was thinking there might have been when it happened, too. But, like all of us, I watch the game with blue and gold glasses.

sorry, but he he hit all arm on that 3 attempt. i couldn't have had a better view unless i was james myself, and while there were many questionable calls, that wasn't one of them.
