A win is a win. :)
Offensive rebounds the difference and second chance points. Of course, we get then because we can't shoot.
This may have been one of the most pathetic wins in Marquette history.
The only purpose this will serve in the history books is avoiding an 0-20 conference record

Call me crazy, but I think 8 wins are within reach.

It was ugly. But I do think it's possible that Ben finds his trifecta.
Are you counting November next season?

I don't care how many we win in conf. I just want to see a little run in New York, make em sweat. Get MU playing on Friday night and anything can happen.

Well, secret scrimmages against Chicao State and NJIT.

Yes, anything could happen! 20, 30 or 40 point loss.
Happy for the kids that they got a win.
Glad for the win. One of the ugliest I can remember but with this team could it be any other way? Glad they avoid the conference donut. Biggest win of the season.

OK, you're crazy.
At first I thought you were talking about conference wins, in which case you'd be stark raving mad. On the season, could get to 8 with a little luck, but its iffy.

8 games total? Possibly.
We aren't comfortable at all in the final 5 mins of games. Are there any remedies?
Nice to see Stevens get 9 and a couple of assists.... he needs to get some rebounds. Nigel Janes is jet-fast. Impressive when he turns on the jets. Parham great overall game. Phillips 0 for 2 but 5 rebounds.
So..... it's a win. 6 and 10. Let's win again. Go Marquette!
When was the last time a MU player had 8 turnovers in a game? Even more remarkable when it's not the point guard. Coupled with 9 missed shots, a significant percentage of MU possessions end (badly) once it touches his hands.

Winning makes you comfortable with a lot. Just win the next one. Let's GO Marquette!
Quote from: MuggsyB on January 07, 2026, 09:04:04 PM8 games total? Possibly.
Yes, 8 total.
But I doubt were favored again.
I thought Marquette's defense was really good tonight. But when you're as bad offensively as they are, even the terrific defensive effort almost wasn't enough.
The play that made me think Marquette was pre-destined to win was the Stevens missed slam dunk play that eventually led to Parham scoring. That was a crazy sequence that made me think good fortune was in Marquette's favor for the night. They sure don't make it easy on themselves though that is for sure.

I'd say 6 are within reach. 8 I'm not so sure about.

Yes. That's how this sport works. 12 month rolling record.
I know this may sound like an odd question but what tempo do you think this team should play at to maximize its chances to win games? Ty.

Remedy is to go medieval
Tempo: As fast as possible. Can't score in halfcourt so get as many points in transition as possible.

This is where I am at. Really happy for the team. The players needed a win in the worst way.

Yes we should all celebrate a moral victory with 8 wins. Yes.

And they kind of got it in the worst way.

Great night for the players. Very happy for them. Tough night for the scoop a-holes, with Willie leading the way.

I think you posted 8 in total for the
season, not conference. I will go one more crazy...
I say we win 9 games this year. We will win 4 conference games. Not going to predict which games but we will get hot from three a couple of games which will gets us a surprise win or two.

I'm not so sure about this but understand your initial thought. In one of the huddles Shaka was imploring our guys to slow down. Nigel is obviously comfortable going Speedy Gonzalez and Chase has jets off the ball. But he's not good playing fast in the half-court. Meanwhile Royce, Ben, and others aren't exactly adept at playing fast. You may still be right that if our tempo was slower we'd be even worse, but I think it's open to discussion.
