Title: MU/Hall Game Thread
Post by: MuggsyB on December 30, 2025, 05:48:51 PM
This could very well be our day!  :)

Or it could be another unmitigated disaster.  :(

Ben goes for 30 with 7 threes?

The +1.5 line on this game screams good news for mubb. Not sure I believe it though.

Maybe Vegas thinks it's addition by subtraction. Or perhaps they got into the gummies.

Positives:

Low Turns
6 total fouls

Negatives:

D rebounds
FT shooting
3pt shooting
Chase
Caedin

Still a pretty good half for us.

Chase had a shot clock violation, would've had two if they had to review a make on a later play, and then doesn't bother to put a shot up at the end of the half. Zero urgency. Will never feel any serious sympathy for us wasting his senior season, he's literally just a guy and has been the opposite of a leader in almost every real game this year. Enormously disappointing season so far from him.

Great point and that's on Shaka.  Had ball with 54 seconds left I believe.

How is MU down only two getting out rebounded 30 to 15, 5 for 12 from free throws and your best player with one made shot for 3 points.  Only guess was zero turnovers and no Tre Norman.

Hopefully MU can make threes(which are coming) and get a win at home.

Quote from: BM1090 on Today at 07:27:19 PMWeird game thread. By far our best performance in a long time. Overall it's been a good effort. Everyone is still whining. They've been solid tonight. Playing smart and tough.

We've played very well compared to what we've seen for sure. But we should be up big imo.  Missed wide open looks and FT's.

Unreal! Thought we could get one. Needed that one. Ross can't be the guy with the ball in his hands at the end of games. Would rather let Nigel create something and mess up than have Ross run wild.

Some coaching malpractice down the stretch.

Sean Jones is a nice guy and has worked hard to get back on the court, but he's short and not good enough for this level (at least not anymore).

What Shaka did with the lineup down the stretch is exactly what I would do if I wanted to be fired.

The Hall is not a good team. The last 4 years of MU teams wins by 20+.

They played hard, nobody can question the effort tonight. That said, when you have an offense as poor as Marquette has, effort just isn't enough to beat the better teams.

This game was close enough to make me think maybe Marquette can win a couple games this year, but they'll need whoever the opponents are to have very very off nights to get any wins.

We didn't have a fg in the final 6 mins.  That's more than not being able to beat the so called better ball clubs.

If only the W/L record, ticket sales, and donations to the athletic department could rely on trying hard.

Texas moved off Shaka after 5 seasons. We'll need to as well. Might lose James and some recruits, but so be it. Blow it up and rebuild with a clean slate. Get a guy that embraces the dynamics of today's game, i.e. roster building.

In 1 possession games like this, the 4 minutes were still too much for Hamilton. The one thing I noticed is when Hamilton chest bumps or screams at another player, they pretty much just ignore him. I think everyone has had it with his poor play all year.

An O-for in the BE will be a massive shock to the MU program. There will be changes if so, and it is very much in play.

A 20-loss season would be a massive shock as we've NEVER had one of those. 7-13 with a first-round BET loss gets us there...and we're not winning 7 Big East games.
