Title: MU/CMU Game Thread
Post by: MuggsyB on November 22, 2025, 12:55:00 PM
This game should be over by the 1st half.  Get Royce involved early.  Let's also see what we have in Damarius and Phillips.

I fully expect MU to win handily to suck me back in thinking, "well maybe they just had a rough stretch and they aren't as bad as they have appeared"

The Chippewas are awful.  End the game quickly and try some new strategies.

I don't get Ben doubling in the half-court.  Totally ineffective, puts us out of position.

Assuming there are any viewers of this game that aren't MU or Central Michigan fans, how many of them think this is an intrastate matchup?

Caedin Hamilton might be the most unskilled player in the history of
Marquette. He can't shoot, can't rebound, can't move on defense, and has a hook shot that never goes in. Shaka not getting transfers for this year is absolutely unacceptable. Tre Normans right behind him

One of the things that's very noticeable on offense is how elite TK and Kam were with their ball placement on passes off the dribble.

So many of our passes are nowhere near where a guy can catch and shoot, and that's even on what seem to be pretty basic passes.

Owens got his minutes, even though it was behind Phillips getting his.  That turnover up 7 with ball was not good for him.  So much for Shaka shorting the rotation.

Gold was not good and Shaka benched him for like 9 to 10 minutes.  The CMU big guy was killing him inside and Gold had zero points and zero rebounds.  He came back in and hit a three, then burned by the CMU big man again when CMU had 2.4 on shot and he made it.  Ben back to bench with Shaka giving him an earful.

MU went to the line 17 times, missing four.  CMU did not go to the line.  Difference in the game.  24 point favorites today, maybe Shaka can inspire them.

Yup, 0 for 3 and got beat defensively twice coming down in transition.  On bench after 3 minutes, along with Hamilton.

But CMU has 8 points on layups by big men to cut lead.  Now two free throws after missed basket, maybe 10 points.

I respect your disdain for Gold. This is a horrible fit for him bc Shaka is trying to force him being the number 2 option w these horrible lineups. He was pretty serviceable the past couple of years w better players

Some people celebrate wins, even small ones. Positive mental attitude is key to overcoming adversity.

That's why Scoop will never overcome anything. Scoop's lag is caused not by the poverty of our admins, nor their profiteering off of our membership dues, but by our malaise around this team

My bad Muggsy. You did not say that the Dayton game would be over by the first half. It's difficult to keep all of your wild posts straight, so cut me some slack little guy, OK.?

BUT...you did say that about the CMU game. And I am sure you were very well aware that I simply had the wrong game prediction. It would have been nice if you could have just laughed it off, but I doubt you are capable of doing anything of the sort.
