Big get. Love this addition, think he's underrated. Big, physical, skilled wing.
Can't wait to see what the class of 2027 is now that we can put all our focus in that.

It's outstanding that Shaka landed a guy with EGB right in his name!

Great get, love the fit. Another good class
This would imply that we're not bringing in a big to redshirt like we have the past 3 seasons. I beleive we're at 15 for next year. Obviously we could redshirt any player but they won't be a project / big man like Caedin, Josh, or Sheek.
(unless someone beyond Chase / Ben leaves)

Also means that we won't be portl-ing again next spring. Portion of the fanbase will continue to be upset that Shaka is doing exactly what Shaka said he was going to do.

Yup. We're getting great recruits specifically because of it, too.

QuoteDOS: When you narrowed to choices to 5...what was it about Marquette that led you to include them in that final list?
Egbuonu: "Just the way they go about everything. I like how the coaching staff is always involved. They stay connected. Obviously, they don't take transfers which is pretty cool given the way college basketball has changed. Those were the things that really stood out for me."
"It's a program that I can trust. The culture played a big part in this decision."

I like the EGB route better, but this is some pretty stiff competition.
Fantastic get for Shaka and company!
Good addition for the Warriors.Surely he will help to close the gap. Hopefully this will also help to land others. Good job Shaka.

Can you repeat that?
How does his game compare to Joplin's?
Similar body types but not sure if it goes farther than that.

Better rebounder, more naturally physical than freshman Jop, better length and raw athleticism. Probably not as good a shooter or finisher. At the most basic, I'd say Jop came in as a more skilled player, Egbuonu comes in with more raw talent.
KABOOM!!!
Outstanding get.

But will Egbuonu pass on a 3-on-1 fast break?
That's all I need to know.

David Joplin did not have a 7ft 4inch wingspan like Alex has. Alex shot 27% from 3 in one of his leagues - he needs to improve on that.

Sorry I was thinking Clark - my brain is toast today. Yes 6 10 1/2 for Alex
I think he plays above the rim more and is less afraid of contact than Jop.
Could be a really big mismatch guy, especially how he plays inside-out now. Not the quickest, but can be a bully like a Bryce Hopkins and looks like hes from a similar mold if the shooting can catch up (and the injuries stay away).
I really like the upside. Also love that he's built already--already has the frame (like Stevens does) and conditioning can go a long way for him
Has MU ever had a Granite Stater before?

Todd Townsend played at a prep school in NH though he hails from Chicago. Btw, Alex's home is in Nashua, NH which is 14 miles from his school in Groton, MA fwiw.

Seems bright and very well-spoken on top of everything else. Looking forward to seeing him next year. Well done Shaka.
