Full FDA approval of 100% prevention of HIV twice a year injection, and the developer Gilead has immediately licensed it generic to six companies royalty free. Something that was a death sentence within many of our lifetimes here.

Very cool medical breakthrough and a continuation of the medical research and development that turned one of the biggest terrifying epidemics of the last century into an almost non factor.
I met a gay couple in their 60s at a wedding in the fall and we got talking about the medical progress made in HIV prevention/treatment, as there was an epidemiologist at our table as well. One spent much of his 20s and 30s in NYC and the other in SF, and they got almost teary talking about what a miracle for people in their position in the younger generations to not have to live in constant fear.
