There are unanswered questions as to the ability of international kids to get the revenue share payments post-House: https://frontofficesports.com/house-settlement-international-athletes/
But the House v. NCAA settlement would have schools dole out payments to their entire athletic department—so it's virtually unavoidable for any athlete. The payments could violate the worker regulations of student visa laws whether they're considered NIL agreements or the manifestation of an employee-employer relationship, the attorneys agreed.
Schools face a new challenge, too: Schools paying international athletes could face their own run-ins with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, given that it's illegal to pay workers who are unauthorized to work in the United States.
Crazy to think, but feels like making it "ok to pay" players is going to result in an increase in dirty, illegal under the table arrangements.

Like this signing as perhaps it signifies shaka trying to get players who already can hit the three v players who have to develop a 3 pt shot while in college. 3 pt shooting matters, especially come tourney time.

He is playing in an NBA Academy event in Abu Dhabi a couple weeks for his Australian team. However that academy is being shut down in November. And since Australian schools run on a calendar year basis, I wonder if he will graduate and be able to come to Marquette at the semester. We have an open scholarship.

He better or he'll be looking for another job.
So would he be eligible to play at the semester if he joined? More curious than anything.
Not putting too much into what he'd bring to this year's squad, but the more shooters on the better.
He would be eligible, but I doubt its worth using up a year of eligibility by joining the team so late.
There have been many cases of Aussie recruits joining for 2nd semester and redshirting to get a head start on their freshman season. My assumption is that is the plan should he join the team for 2nd semester.
I agree with JTJ3.
I had been wondering if either Nash or Ethan would redshirt next year. Obviously, if Nash redshirts 2nd semester he wouldn't redshirt next year. But Ethan would still be a redshirt candidate.
With expanded rosters, coaches have the luxury of redshirting players more often. With transfers having immediate eligibility, players no longer have to save their redshirt just in case they transfer down the line. And NIL & revenue sharing gives them incentive to stick around 5 years, if that's most beneficial to them.
I like the approach Shaka is taking in regards to utilizing redshirts with the expanded roster. This investment will pay dividends down the line.

I had the exact same thought. Walker redshirts this year and joins Miletic and Sheek (and maybe Egbuonu) as the freshman class next year. Johnston redshirts next year to lift, solidify his jumper and get used to college ball since we dont need minutes from him day 1.
All speculation of course, but it all lines up nicely.

Yup. Lot of that has to do with the fact that the Australian academic year ends in mid-December. Also to note is that the NBA closed the Australian and Latin American Global Academies in July and is now creating hub academies in Asia and the Middle East along with the current Senegal location in order to attract candidates from wider geographical areas. So, is Nash even in school right now?
