Huge dis, since Moser only schedules cupcakes OOC.
So does that make MD and Dayton the marquee home non-conference games? That's a little lackluster.
I suppose the neutral courts will help our NET.
At UIC's arena? okay a new arena for us

2 home, 2 road, 2 neutral. One of the two neutrals will be a Marquette Home game in vs oklahoma in chicago.
Now that's 2 Chicago games that, depending on time, probably conflict with the Super Bowl-bound Chicago Bears schedule.
Very annoying.
Methinks it's possible Maryland wants out of their return game?
I am torn on this one. Shaka has a winning record against SEC teams so we should be able to win. However without any reinforcement transfer portal players this looks to be yet another season ending loss. I know better than he does most of the time but I admit I'm a little confused here.

A season ending loss on November 28th......that is bad......
We will have three games in Chicago next year. Has that ever happened (regular season before)?
Four very good 2027 players from Illinois in Cleveland, Thompson,Davis and Williams. Coincidence MU is playing two games in Chicago next year. I think not.

Yeah, I had never heard of Credit Union 1 Arena so I just looked it up ... and was pretty surprised the schools agreed to play a game in a 10,000-seat arena on the campus of a school that has been a basketball afterthought pretty much forever.
But I'm glad for another game in Chicago, so cool. Hopefully I'll be able to make one of them as part of a trip to see the grandkids.

Yes. 2008-09 is an example. We had a couple of games at Sears Center. Northern Iowa & some low Major crap school.. Dayton or something like that. Then, at DePaul.

Davis is in Gurnee. It's probably faster for him to get to the Fiserv than to the Credit Union 1 Arena.
Source: I grew up there and we NEVER went to sporting events in Chicago, just Milwaukee.

Also off the top of my head 1991-92 with a game at DePaul then two at Chicago Stadium for the GMC Conference Tournament.

I asked today and was told there's no truth to that rumor. Maryland game is still on. They did move the game from the originally planned date due to a conflict, but the game is still on.

Buzz is excited. He talked to dung Willie who assured him this is an auto-W for the Terps
If I was Porter Moser, I would be excited to prove myself in this one.

One game doesn't prove anything........it was 4 years ago....I'm sure he tries to win every game he coaches.

Im happy I get 3 games in Chicago this year. I should probably reach out and see if we can get Marquette to do pregame at Kaiser Tiger for IU game.

Probably some on here who will wait in line to get tickets.....
Why would they play an exhibition game in Milwaukee?

Also, do High Majors frequently play exhibitions against each other? Overall, it seems like an odd arrangement.

Recruiting?
"Hello young man. If you sign with us, you can play in this NBA arena every other year."

They can both treat it like a road game...they sell tickets...they get a chance to play in an NBA arena.
Guys,
New rule in 2025. In the past, exhibition games vs. DI teams were a no no. Required a waiver, with proceeds generally going to charity.
This season, rule changes allow you to play another DI team as an exhibition and make it a money grab for the school (and by extension, their young, rich players).
Also.. the 'secret scrimmages' that MU did in the past.. no longer need to be in private and now allow "official" scoring.
It's all new.
I think a MU scrimmage at the UWM Arena or the AL would draw fans. If a neutral site is preferred, Green Bay would be fun (coupled with a Sunday Packer game). Or, we go back to Chicago again!

Why not make it a doubleheader and play the game on Lambeau Field.

Looks like UW Madison is playing Nova at the Fiserv this year and BYU at the Fiserv next year. They are trying to invade.

They want "home" games that will show up as neutral site games on their resume. Similar to what we're doing playing games in Chicago. Smart for both teams.
Can't blame them for being jealous.
This is big news for MECCA.
Illinois has played games in Chicago in the past as a "home" game. The fact is that UW games at the FF are a novelty game that bring in people that spend money. FF doesn't exist to lose money, and unless MU wants to get renegotiate their agreement to exclude UW, that's the way it goes.

Wisconsin played at the BC as well back in the day. It's an opportunity for Mequon folks to feel safe with people of their kind

No one is doubting their right to do these things. It's simply an annoyance.
I appreciate the FF doing charity work like this. Allowing a downtrodden program a rare opportunity to play in a nice arena and get some rare positive exposure.
Interesting. UConn is scheduling a game against BYU a the TD Bank Garden in Boston for this upcoming season.

Is Marquette lining up a game at the Kohl hohl?
Nope. Chicago. Against IU. Trendsetters. Ahead of the curve.
