Title: Proposed rule changes( coaching challenges)
Post by: MuMark on May 09, 2025, 01:00:11 PM
If approved would see less " let's go to the monitor " for out of bounds plays in last few minutes.

That's the best part of the games

Especially when it takes a couple of minutes. It really ramps up the excitment and anticipation!

Gives TV more time to run commercials.  It's important their corporate partners get more airtime

Plus it offers multiple opportunities for obtaining refills, bathroom breaks (the two are related), etc.

And they're entertaining! Especially when they show the same ones over and over. Like the emu who sells insurance? I just laugh at the concept every time.

While the commercials are running, the refs are talking about which team they should give the game to. Their agents are negotiating for the best bribe between the two teams and then give a secret signal to alert the refs which way to rule.

The refs definitely hate Marquette as much as ESPN hates the Big East

8-)

I must admit.....I'm one of the few that aren't as bothered by the monitor reviews( especially late) I'd rather get it right and take a few more minutes.

Where it does bother me is when coaches ask for a review ( and of course are granted it) EVERY TIME the ball goes out of bounds late in the game .....mostly just so they can get a free time out.

So I'm assuming that in order to challenge goal tending it would have to be called initially........don't see how it would be possible to do it any other way?

"We're just waiting on the call from Las Veg... I mean, New York!"

Basically the NBA rule, and it's vastly superior to what the college game has done the last several years.

What is most annoying is when the replay is so obvious and yet they take 5 minutes to make the call.

It's like waiting behind guys who can't hit the ball more than 150 being 250 out and waiting for the green to clear.

Sorry 'bout that!
