Title: RiP Mongo
Post by: MuggsyB on April 23, 2025, 07:12:57 PM
Part of the greatest defense in the history of the NFL by all accounts.   May he rest in peace.

I didn't realize he had 92.5 sacks.

I don't think there was a better defensive front seven in the history of the NFL. And I think he really flew under the radar with all the personalities on that unit, but he may have been the best of the bunch.

I think he really came into his personality after his playing days with the WCW work and his media work.  He was always larger than life, but like you said, under the radar, and then really broke out.

His 7th inning stretch at Wrigley where he called out Angel Hernandez for sucking, blew him a kiss, and got glared at and tossed by that mental midget is absolutely epic.

I have no exposure to him post-football so I'll take your word on it.

I remember watching that game on TV as a kid.  The end of that game was an all-timer.

The first time I became aware of Angel Hernandez.
