Title: MU in bound plays
Post by: MuggsyB on March 21, 2025, 08:40:42 PM
Can we ever learn how to in bound the ball?  Makes me very, very, angry.

This is like special teams in football. Whomever is in charge needs to be relieved of their duties.

Marquette should hire Rich Bissacia

Or defend inbounds. How many layups did we give up on inbounds under the basket this year.

It's been brutal much of the year.

NM scouted us very well. I'm sure Rick made mention of it.

Mind boggling.  Especially as seniors and juniors.

Ive brought this up for years.
Ive contacted Ben Steele whenever he asks for questions......do we think that the same 5th grade inbound play is going to work again this year

It's coaching...they don't even start running their out of bounds plays until 2 seconds have gone off the clock. Seems like a simple message. "Speed up" "cut hard"

It is a huge blind spot for our coach and his staff and is frustrating beyond belief. I've come to the conclusion that BOOB plays are as important to Shaka as rebounds.

Yes, I was starting to worry whether we would be able to get it in without a turnover.

You can't just gloss this over either.  For the life of me I don't understand it.  We're talking 2-4 possessions every game.  And if you add allowing point plank buckets defending oob, it literally costs us games or being in position to win games.  Extremely upsetting and I would like this to be solved moving forward.

This season since Jan 3 was like one giant bad inbounds pass.  Sums up this season well.

UConn turned it over twice on inbounds plays in a two minute span versus Oklahoma. Therefore, UConn is a trash program and Hurley can't coach.
