MU is the least favorite among the 7 seeds. Kansas, St. Mary's and UCLA all -4.5.
Make of it what you will
Cool! MU is favored!
This is a very intriguing matchup. Glad we got a 7 but this is one of the common 8/9 matchups we were listed in.
They start 3 guys 6'9" or taller but they also like to run.
Interesting stylistic matchup.
MU's early season success paid off. Avoiding a 8-9 seed was huge.
6:25 pm tip time.

5 seed Memphis is an underdog.......make of that what you will..... ::)

Tyrese Hunter is hurt.
Some of you are acting pretty fragile. I meant nothing negative.

Memphis starting point guard, Tyrese Hunter, is injured (I believe), which may account for the point spread.

Lol so that's the spin. Knew there had to be one but wasn't sure it would be, "Well we're a 7 but Bracketology had us as an 8 and New Mexico as a 9 and that's the matchup!"
Got to beat the team in front of us. The whole seed thing is behind us.
Any other good info on NMST?
I remember Colorado last year had some long NBA quality guys and we took care of it.

Huh? I thought we'd be an 8. I was wrong.
Think we are got a tough 1st rounder matchup and obviously the 2nd round matchup would be tougher than the 1st but I actually like our 2nd round draw compared to the other 7s.

And 3rd round potential draw got jucier since the last time we played them.

I'm looking forward to getting a good scouting report on NMST. For reasons that are probably obvious to most of us, I'm most interested in their biggest win of the season (
by far) on December 7.

I've seen some people mention wins by NMST. They don't matter unless it was in the last 2 months and unless they were top 3 in the league
I worry more about the New Mexico Lobos, rather than the New Mexico State Aggies.

All of those games are near tossups. No surprise for a 7-10 game.
We play UNM, not NMST. Cmon now.

Which is why I was most interested in NMST's December 7 win...against NM (i.e., the
only NMST game with even a hint of relevance to us).

The good news is the greatest Lobo of all time, Rebecca, is married to an MU alum. I feel this bodes well for us.
If we win but don't cover, they should send New Mexico on to the R32.

Thanks. (HBO) Max should have the TBS/TNT/TruTV streams, Paramount+ will have the CBS streams (including the final 4).

I have a friend who is in a pool that operates sort of like that.....64 teams get bought at random.......if the favorite does not cover then whoever had the underdog in the game now has the advancing team in the next round.

I had Purdue......covered all 5 games. It's fun.
