That kid played his ass off in the 2H and OT. He's not a physical force by any stretch, but I saw a different competitive streak in him.
Zuby's probably still hooking his arm. Like he was the entire game.
He wasn't honored in any way today, was he? Would be a good sign he will be back next year?

Yes he did, especially when he was repeatedly sealed off on the defensive side of the ball.

Where else would he go?

Some people commented on him going back home.

He is a junior. One more offseason of growth and development.
People are so hard on him in other threads for not being a power center. He's a good stretch 4 who's shown offensive flashes and we will really need him to be a playmaker next year
He's had a good stretch here lately.
I'm still about this season, but I think we'll be in better shape at the 5 than the vast majority of D1 teams in 2025-26.
If Gold were to enter the portal, coaches of numerous top-25 teams would try to get him.
Ben played hard. Made a number of excellent plays.

if Gold was the second guy off the bench for MU...perfect. Unfortunately we don't have that kind of talent.
Who are the players at the 5 for next season that give you this confidence?

A playmaker?

Ben Gold and Royce Parham. Even if Hamilton and Clark don't work out - and neither you nor I know if that's the case yet - I'm confident that we'll be well-manned at the 5.
Let me ask you something ... were you this worried about the 5 going into the 2022-23 season? If not, why not? Our only returning big was a non-scorer who had been merely an adequate role player as a sophomore, and our only recruit was a New Zealand kid who hadn't proven anything. With that horse-bleep combo, I'm surprised we won more than 8 games!

Please share how many back up 5s in the country are as good as Ben.
Otherwise, shhhhh.
