Title: Spacing
Post by: wadesworld on February 21, 2025, 06:23:57 PM
The players on the court seem as confused about what they're doing as I am watching them. Why do we constantly have 3 guys within about 5 feet of each other on the court? And with very little movement from anyone. It's no wonder we go to isolation. Nobody finds any space on the court to even get a pass, let alone get open.

Oh, I thought this was about the mental state of Marquette so far tonight.

I hate our offense. its basically just standing around and watching the guy with the ball, then making sure to draw 3 defenders to the ball handler

So different than the pretty basketball we used to see. I'm not sure if that is by design or Kolek and Oso were just that good at getting that going. Nova is a lousy pick and roll D but we don't seem to be trying to exploit that at all.

The offense is 5 out with only 2 players to put it on the floor, so your stuck jacking up 3's with a team that is not very good at.  No pick and roll, no easy baskets. Ghost screens that do not get anybody open. 1 agree totally

Biggest difference this year is ballhandlers pick up their dribble a lot more. The ball almost never stopped with Tyler or early season Kam
