OUCH!
What's really petrifying about those stats is that .. we're over half way through our OOC schedule .. of the 9 teams we've played, only 3 should have been competitive, and the other 6 were teams that aren't Big East quality teams .. games that we should have exited with great stat boosters (if we were a top 10, 20, 30 team).
Man, we need some good news before the UW game. We need to hold DSU to 5% shooting, and get 35 steals. :-X
FWIW, i think many of these numbers were worse last season......particularly rebounding and 2pt FG%. MU was an abominable rebounding team last season -- but has yet to be out-rebounded this season. There are some positives here -- but the numbers seem to belie the make-up of the roster, and our perceived strengths
Well, let's be honest. Did anybody think that shooting was a strength for Marquette going into this season? Thank God for Cubillan or it would be much worse.
agreed......though individually I didnt expect Matthews and James to become awful shooters in just one off-season. Their numbers are shockingly bad IMHO. And the defensive results are disappointing
What's crazy is that the numbers are better against the better teams (Duke, Texas Tech, NW State) than they are vs. the "weaker" teams (Idaho St., Valpo, Hillsdale, etc...) The team has seemed to play to their opponents.
