please be on a weekend!
Love it - definitely planning on going to that game.
I've hated IU for a long time. I have close friends that went to IU that still delusionally believe it's a blue blood.
Losing this one is not an option. :D
Tower, after Marquette wins, you can hide out at our place for a while until your UI wife cools off.

Crean has to be on the call right?
With Fanta!
Read the headline and figured we were moving Shaka before the deadline.

Bringing in Luke Fischer as a sideline reporter.
This is great. Anybody who complains about MU's non conference scheduling under Shaka is crazy.
Buzz getting the IU job would be icing on the cake

They might as well adopt us.
So Broeker's first move as AD is to unofficially join the Big 10!

Marquette is leading the BigTen this year with a 3-0 record in conference.

good point. Friday night would be acceptable.
Of course it could be the Saturday of either the Army/Navy game or the CFP...so that would be nice.

Which means we're bringing back football.
Which team will Shaka be coaching?

Hopefully football. Fading in February still means a championship.
Love it. Have long wanted an event to participate at the United Center.
We continue to schedule really, really well.
Can we really trust Rothstein?

Did you forget that we scheduled against Dayton??? I don't care if we have several Q1 opportunities, the entire non-slate is an automatic failure.
As most will call it the "Tower Classic"
This is cool. Ideally, it would be within a few days of one of the other good NC games (such as MU@Madison or Md@MU) and those of us who want to travel in from other areas could get a two-fer.

Maybe they should schedule some of these OOC games in January or February. We have a week off before we play the Pirates. Other Big East teams do that.
Even worse, after letting her know, it may be the 'Tower attends the game with his wife "because it might be fun", and prays for death' classic.
Seriously, she wants to try to attend. If we score tickets, it will be fun.
How about 'The Crean Classic'? Winner gets to hang the banner.

According to Jeff Rabjohns, this is part of an MTE. Guessing we will both play the same two buy level opponents at home. Be interesting to see if those two are also at the UC against each other. If so, might make sense to look for other relatively local programs like Drake, Loyola Chicago, Toledo, or Bradley. It's probably a pipe dream to have that level of quality, but I'm sure there are top A10/MVC programs that would kill to be in that type of field with guaranteed shots at high majors, like GMU this year.
So then I guess we have our answer.
Next year's center is the United Center.

If she's like any of the Indiana alums I know she's already going to be upset because you referred to her alma mater as UI instead of IU.
She isn't an alum. She grew up in Indiana, a high schooler in the era of Steve Alford and his perfect hair.
I wonder if they would try to make this a doubleheader like the ones they have in Indy every year.
MU-IU in one game and Illinois or Northwestern in the other.
The really important thing to do now is figure out where the pregame meetup will take place. Is Billy Goat big enough?

Being on a Sunday limits their options AND limits its value though. A football Sunday in November? Conflicts with Packers or Bears is really going to limit the crowd.
Funny enough with it being a Sunday and only a Sunday makes me wanting to go and will go.
Yeah, assuming no bad weather this will give a good excuse to visit the in laws and catch a high level game.
Very annoyed it will conflict with football but still planning on going.
I'll have a group of 20 going. There will be enough of us interested. IU fans will be excited about their new coach as well. The game will be a sellout.
Will anyone watch it on TV? Probably not.
Excited for this. Nice little walk to the UC for me to watch Shaka take on Buzz.
I am definitely going g to try, but I suspect this will be a tougher ticket than we think.
I don't care about football so will be there!

I will as both NY teams will still suck. They'll both have at least 6 losses by the ninth of November if not more.
It's difficult to approve of such reckless scheduling. How quickly we forget what happened last time we played Indiana in the pre-conference schedule. Plus they took one of our best coaches. Seems that Shaka wants to play all of the Big Ten teams so badly. Shouldn't we focus our efforts on just joining that conference instead of going out of our way to schedule games with them all the time?

Veteran's Day weekend; football still a "conflict," but travel to Chicago for the game easier for some.

You're selling us short. Marquette should arrange an international tournament with its peers. Team USA, Team France, Team Spain, and Marquette makes an excellent field. They can hold it at the Old Gym and play without a shot clock and three point line.
Dig up Al, and make a Lenin style tomb for his corpse so he can coach.
Nothing short of this will make little willie happy.
MU has scheduled well under Shaka. This season, 3 Big 10 schools, three legit road games in amped up arenas, one neutral site game against a high major. All learning experiences.
It appears to me that we are heading toward an Izzo model of playing anybody, anywhere. Fine with me, as long as everyone holds up their end of the bargain.
