NIL is still very weird to me. Although it's a basic thing ..get paid for your work and the profit it makes your employer according to the market.
Still such a weirdness. Is it college sports any more? Or just a branding.

Not sure but Marquette brass should pump up that narrative and keep the actual amounts under wraps.

It's not deceitful if you didn't release it.

Under MUs system if you stick with it and become one of the go to guys you will be nicely compensated, and win a lot, and still get drafted while becoming a much better defensive player in your career.

Hard to pass up when you can play for a guy like Shaka

Yeah that is a stupid way to do business since if it's not true it eventually will come out.

Be upfront and honest......recruit people who are good players and share your values.

No one releases their values, so there no be up front and be honest in the business.

I'm not saying lie to recruits or to those that are coming into the program, all I'm saying is let it be known that if you stay at Marquette for 4 years and live up to your potential you will be nicely compensated.

I'm sure they do that already........all I'm saying is if a report is demonstrably false you don't want to give credence to it.

My guess is that recruits ask other players about it during the recruiting process and get an understanding of how MU operates.

Best player on a team that plays in front of 18,000 fans who pay $75 / ticket to watch and put down $18 drinks makes money.  Yes, very weird.

I've been told this is decidedly not true. Doesn't matter to me if it is or isn't, I hope Kam gets as much as he can.

I've been told well over a million from credible sources...and that Kam was offered a nice amount 2 years ago that MU managed to match.  Kolek well over a million last year as well.

My estimation for him has gone down.  Thought he played for the name on the front of the jersey and not the back.

So Marquette should respond to every internet rando conjecture about NIL compensation?

Does Marquette even know the total comp for every athlete? In other words, if Kam signs a deal with David Gruber to do commercials for him, does all that get run through the university?

I would hope that Marquette is aware of every NIL deal their athletes are getting and making sure nothing is against NCAA rules in any of them. Probably don't need to know the amount of each deal, but I'd hope before they sign a deal with Gruber they have someone at MU looking over it.
