Title: Seton Hall thread.

Kicked out of class and Seton in the Hall.  I hope MU is able to score some points overcome the grind.

With 15 points tonight, Kam would pass Dominic James for 5th on the all-time scoring list.

Looking at some pictures from shootaround, Chase's thumb on his shooting hand is wrapped/braced. He was shooting over 40% from 3 not long ago. Hopefully his results aren't hurt by the brace. We need all the 3 point shooting we can get at this point.

Post by: wisblue on January 21, 2025, 01:34:05 PM
It's hard to imagine how having a wrap or brace on the thumb of your shooting hand wouldn't affect your shooting.

I don't see a path to victory.  The offense is irretrievably broken and we can't stop anyone.  In the long run, hopefully all this losing Marquette fans have endured this year and the past 3 years is rewarded with a staff that'll do what it can to put a winning product on the court with players the university and alumni can be proud of.

Before I say this, I just want to make sure I'm allowed to do so without getting trolled as a part of the COLE.

I believe this was almost the EXACT pregame sentiment prior to Xavier.  Just pointing it out.

That said, I expect a big road W tonight.

Yup.

3 youngins in together.

Stuffed on 1 possession. Drain the clock and Kam forced into a bad TO on the next

On D. SHU has a bucket and then free throws in 3 possessions.

Now Kam to bench. Turn over. SHU drives and fouled.

We have 1 pt in the last like 4 minutes. I just dont know what is going to fix this team.

Its every single game. Utter incompetence for loooooooong stretches.
Yes there is something wrong. Shaka needs to fix things. That is his job.

This might be Hall's worst BE team ever.  Think they are easily the worst team in conference this year.

Fortunately, I think we held them off long enough that we'll be saved by the final buzzer

It's annoying to keep hearing announcers harp on our rebounding. We're 4th and 6th in the conference in def and off rebounding.

It's not really a weakness this year.

I like being able to laugh at a SH offensive player with a forearm shiver not being called and an apparent brush on a wrist being a foul

He's okay taking a few dribbles to the hoop from 15 feet out.  When he starts dribbling like crazy 40 feet from the rim in the open floor it drives me up the wall.

Keep in mind one of these announcers stated he looked most forward to visiting Omaha among the cities in the BEast.  "The restaurants" is apparently one of his reasons.  Lol.

Went as well. Based on what I saw Seton Hall basketball is on life support. Curtains covering the entire second level. Lower bowl was maybe 35-40% occupied. "Student Section" was essentially two rows of kids right next to the Marquette bench. Not a good look.

Man, I know game threads are 100% emotion, and 0% actual thought, but for a blowout road win, where we lead for the final 37 minutes this thread is ugly.

The game threads are ridiculous. And its by and large the same handful of posters who feel the need to vent their frustrations over every detail that some 18-22 year old does wrong during a game. One of those handful once tried to compare it to watching a game with friends at a bar, but I know if I acted like that, my friends would leave and/or the bar would kick me out.

Sure its fine, and I can't do anything to stop it (nor would I want the power too), but it is embarrassing, and to your point, the worst offenders don't own it. Jop only had 2 TO's last night, Ben only went 3-5 from 3, and we won in a blow out.  By pretty much any measure it was a good to great game. Do you think anyone is going to "own" their awful takes?

Indeed, can you imagine having to suffer through PGs or Dung Willie in person and their perpetual whine machines?

Here is Dung Willie's contributions, in their entirety, during a blowout conference road win:

lots of offensive slop. Missing 2 footers. Jones missing bunnies.
lots of offensive slop. Missing 2 footers. Jones missing bunnies. (Yes, posted it twice)
JopBrick just missed 4 consecutive 3s. He needs to sit.
Yes there is something wrong. Shaka needs to fix things. That is his job.
How the hell does a 6'11" Gold miss a dunk?
A great doofus reverse kick by Jolp on a breakaway
Jolp building Rome brick by brick

And I don't have the time or fortitude to catalogue PG's cry fest.

PGs is just the f*cking worst. And now he does it in the NFL topic during playoff games, which is basically spam because he rarely says anything accurate or interesting.
