Title: Benny vs teams with a pulse
Post by: PGsHeroes32 on December 21, 2024, 05:17:35 PM
Brew(I believe) has broken it down before with A/B level games for Ben through his career and how he shoots much better in better games.

Well we now have 8 games against teams from the major conferences plus top 25 Dayton. And this is all we have left going forward

Ben is 25/50 from the floor and 18/40 from 3(45%) and averaging just over 9 PPG.

Continues to be interesting and as I said due to the remaining schedule I hope it remains a true trend.

Hello.

Now that Caedin isn't getting any minutes it's become even more important that Benny continues to progress.

We've discussed him ad nauseam.
He's looked better and better this month (outside of Dayton 2H, woof), so it's good to know that he's a serviceable high major player. I'm pretty sure we all just want him to be a consistently good high major player, and would be extremely pleasantly surprised if he ever became an elite/great high major player.

It did surprise me that he had the worst +- on the team today, I thought he played pretty well.

I still think he plays in the league.

Tower

We agree on that. He is showing more of his skills every game. Ben is not just a shooter and we are starting to see a more rounded player.

Well if he does that hope he speeds up that trajectory and is first team BE next season, that would be nice

Ben is a euro-style project big.  He is the first D1 player from NBA Australia.  He never played against American bigs growing up and the last years prior to MU were during COVID, which was handled differently down under.

So he had to come to America, learn to play American style against American athletes.  And now he has to be the man.  Ben is doing fine.

Where have you found the +/- stats? I have a hard time finding them online, especially without any subscriptions to advanced metrics.

Ben is a good player.  Improving every year.  83.3% eFG through 2 Big East games.  130 O-rating in the 7 tier a/b games so far this season.

My only thing I would like outta Ben is like 1 or 2 more looks at the rim a game. Using the fake and his skill to get shots in the paint.

He's never going to be a guy who takes 7 shots in a game at the rim. But if he can use his shooting to get even 1 more per game that would be big
