Damn, Around the 4:30 Mark guy had me wanting to run through a wall.
I know he's got some "non portal" bias. But jeez Shaka should just play that segment on a loop for recruits.
Sh it beat to the punch
That was amazing. Hard not to respect Painter and the Purdue program.

Shaka said in his postgame UCONN and Purdue are the best two programs. Hard to disagree with that. Purdue caught a bit of a tough break this year with the big kid being out for the year.
I think what Kam did tonight goes beyond getting a triple double. And Painter alluded to it. He's grown exponentially and began his college career really as a spot shooter and scorer. He took 3 shots in the 1st half and didn't really take a bad shot all game. He also brought it defensively and from a leadership perspective. I mentioned that I thought Kam would have an enormous Sr. season. Thus far he has been absolutely superb in all facets of the game.
F, that was among the coolest props this program could get beyond Hurley. Cool stuff.
Great comments from Painter! Hopefully we can keep this rivalry going. These early-season matchups are fantastic and help both teams.
I respect Painter so much. What solid praise for the program, team, and scheme. I believe he's the one other coach who gets it and buys into his guys. Also, when's the last time you heard an opposing coach name every player by name...while also giving a 4 year scouting report on them? He also has to live in Indiana, and just EWWW.
Matt Painter ahead of Marquette is worth listening to also. I especially enjoyed listening to him talk about how good our coaches are at in game adjustments.

Painter is a hell of a coach and a class act. And yes, if I were Shaka, I'd find a way to squeeze at least 30-60 seconds of that press conference into recruiting pitches. There's some material from Hurley available, too.
Besides UW, has Marquette ever recently scheduled non-conference matchups for more than two years? Purdue would be a great scheduling partner. Even though, we've been on the short end, they've been great games...especially last night!
5:00 Minute mark praises the university and not just the program.
Lots of class.

Until last night, they were largely out of Marquette's control. 2017, 2019, and 2022 were all part of the Gavitt Games. 2023 was a result of both teams winning to the Maui final. Maybe Shaka and Paint figured it was inevitable so just schedule the damn series.
Marquette's Basketball Facebook page had a bit of Paonter's quote about the program in a post today.

I guess they do check Scoop!
