Title: Coaching Clinic from Shaka
Post by: MuggsyB on November 19, 2024, 10:19:37 PM
Our guys were 100% prepared and executed the game plan.  We're extremely fortunate to have Shaka leading our program.

This has to be the longest run of consecutive weeks of being ranked since the glory days, right?

Shaka had the best resume of any coach MU ever hired.  This is a special time.

We didn't shoot the 3 well.  Other than that it was a great performance.  We sped them up and controlled tempo.  Everyone was locked in which was beautiful to see.

I particularly liked that MU didn't play passive down the stretch.  It was a 6 point game with 8 minutes left.  The pressure stayed on.  Ran the offense.  Blowout.  One of my many complaints about I had about the last regime is taking the air out of the ball and playing not to lose if we were up under 8 minutes left.

The defense is better this season with Chase playing 35 per game.  He is bigger, stronger, faster than TKo.  Painter alluded to there not being any weak sisters out there, defensively.   TKo was an all American.  He was not a great on ball defender.
I was not worried about this season.  And I thought the continuity would pay off early.   The Creighton game showed that this season's starters were going to be just fine.  I said it before,I will say it again.  Stay healthy and hit 3s at a decent rate and this will be a very dangerous team.

I don't think Purdue is very good

Purdue is good.   The haters are quiet right now.   Enjoy their silence.   They will be back.

Imagine what we would do to Alabama...or what Central Michigan would do to Purdue.

Our guards are really good Tower.  And Kam looks like a 1st team AA.  We also cleaned the glass well yesterday.  We still need to shoot the triple better but we can inflict damage in a number of areas.  We can play with anyone if we get consistent production from our bigs.  I'm looking forward to the growth of Parham and Owens.

36 total minutes from the bench.  37 from Chase.   MU needs a couple more cupcakes to let the bench run.

Absolutely. How many times have we, as MU fans, sweated out a lead over the last 5-6 minutes because MU goes dry on offense and doesn't keep the pressure. I loved the "kill" mentality.

Early season work and emphasis on team D has really paid off.  I anticipate the offense will get better as the season goes on
