Title: Chippewas SOTG
Post by: wadesworld on November 11, 2024, 10:13:48 PM
Chase? I guess. Stevie for making some free throws? I guess.

The refs for blowing a whistle every 15 seconds otherwise.

Reluctantly Chase.

Wild that Kam is 4/4 as we go on our run. Has 5 shots rest of game(all misses).

still 8 more assists and could have been 15 again if brick 1 and brick 2 weren't terrible

I shouldnt care at all after a game like this but how in the world is it not Chase unanimous?

He sparked the entire run with his D. Had 4 steals but was really responsible for at least 10 of the 19.

Hit 3, 3s in the 2nd half when no one else on the team acted like a game was going on. 6 boards. 4 assists. 1 TO

Stevie was good. But he had two brutal lay up biffs when game was very in doubt before he closed with free throws.

Second half malady described as a full lower body cramp.   Lower back spasms that locked up everything?  He could barely walk.

Chase. His overall play was very good. Stevie was a steady hand and made those FTs down the stretch for a big assist.

That's what it looked like to me. Couldn't even flex his feet/ankles. He's got those 40 year old problems.

Ross for sure. Our defense was elite and Ross was the top reason.  18 deflections is insane. Scored 9 of our 11 points to keep us afloat when we couldn't hit water falling out of a boat.

HM to Kam for having the best statline.

Hm, I thought I edited that post.  Anyhow, They're not on mobile, maybe that's the problem?  It was a little cluttered so removed them.  Otherwise they're on the left side as they always used to be.  If you're on desktop and don't see the boxes, check tiny plus/minus box at the top right just above the "next up" box.

They really were the star.  There was zero flow to the game with both teams getting called for fouls every other possession.  Not a fun watch at all.

Also, I believe I saw more on the line calls last night then the last ten years combined.

But seriously I'll go with Chase.  Deflections are the core of Shaka's defense and he set a record today.

I know it's supposed to be a player but seriously Shaka was the stud last night:
- for not losing his cool
- for managing the foul situation quite well
- for bringing Kam back at the 5 rather than after the 4 which is when most coaches would have done it
- for excellent O/D substitutions
- for getting the most out of everyone except those that went 0/11

It's good to have a coach that can still win even crazy games like this.

by the way, CMU - well done with the zone.

Chase over Stevie.  They are the best pair of guards on defense since McNeal and James, and they may be better.

Even though I wrote the above, I still think it might be Kam, we were outscored when he sat and if he didn't play, we probably lose that game.
