Shaka said in his post game presser that the plan is to redshirt AA.
I think this is probably the right decision. With the caveat that if DO's toe turns into a long term thing, MU will go through the season with 9 scholarship players.
I think it's the right decision.
Kinda think that means he's leaving after the season.
I don't want to speculate on that, but the roster composition is not in his favor.

How about Sean?
Not mentioned.

This is also my analysis.

Yep. I wouldn't speculate regarding his future.
Peddle his azz

On the bright side, Shaka also mentioned DO. Still relatively vague. But much more optimistic as well

I think just the opposite. Kinda makes me thinks he's in Shaka's long term plan. Al was very late to begin playing basketball, and is known to be a great kid, with a lot of athleticism - perfect candidate to grow within the program. I see Al having more potential than Keeyan, whom I though was smart to transfer.
If he was going to transfer, couldn't he just do it mid-year these days and be immediately eligible?

And use a season of eligibility in the process?

OTOH he looks to be behind Ben, Caedin and Royce with Clark waiting in the wings.

Really wish he would have left after last season, continuing to put pressure on the team to find another option at the 5. The Al experiment is over (the lottery ticket didn't end up being a winner), it didn't work and now we have nothing more than a practice player for the year.

To me, this is art

Gonna bookmark this one, and bring out the receipts in 3 years.

Kind of a messed up thing to say. Guy wants to stay and improve and help the team, and you wished he had just packed it up and left? He'll never be a star, but there's no reason he can't contribute down the line.
Maybe Shaka and Co don't see him as a 5 but more of a wing and that's what the development year is for.

That very well could be the case.
Honestly I had it in my mind that he is a year older than I thought which is why I thought the redshirt and transfer idea made some sense. The fact that he is only a sophomore is making me re-think that.

This is it. Take the year and see if he can become OMax 2.0

no, since he's on a roster and receiving athletic aid. In baseball, basketball and softball a player cannot transfer mid-year and play. Well, unless he sues the NCAA.
My suspicion is that Shaka talked to him about his role for 24-25 last spring. If he was going to transfer it would have been then.

Since we don't have a "dislike" button just want to note that your post sucks.

I'll use your like button as a dislike button for him.

Yep, my thought as well. If anything maybe he can turn into a defensive and rebounding stud forward of the bench that can contribute some modest point totals with his hyper athleticism.
