Title: Since MU has joined the Big East
Post by: CrazyEcho on February 25, 2008, 10:37:19 PM
How many other BE schools have a better record during regular season conference play?

I'd guess probably Georgetown and maybe Pitt . . .  can't be too many others, can there?

Here's my work for the top 4 spots:

G'town: 10-6, 13-3, 12-3 = 35-12
MU: 10-6, 10-6, 11-5 = 31-17
Louisville: 6-10, 12-4, 12-3 = 30-17
Pitts: 10-6, 12-4, 7-7 = 29-17

Not a bad showing these last 3 seasons . . . Hopefully we gain ground on GULC (Georgetown) this Saturday.

Villanova and UConn also have 30 wins apiece.

Not bad for a team that is overwhelmed playing in a power conference, a team that many BEast fans thought would go 0-16, a team that many of its 'fans' were projecting to be in over its head.   I fully expect that at some point we are going to have a rebuilding year and go 7-11, or 9-9, something like that.   But I trust the coach.   Like or hate TC, he has accomplished something these last three years in the BEast that none but the most optimistic fans would have predicted.   He has made us a BEast power that others must account for.

TC must be behind this post.  ;)

Couldn't agree more.

This is also impressive considering the recruiting rubes who are always barking that MU will not compete because we aren't landing as good of classes as PITT or UCONN or whoever.

I'm not saying talent isn't important... but the bottom line is W's... and MU has gotten them .
