Title: [Cracked Sidewalks] Central Michigan Preview
Post by: brewcity77 on September 11, 2024, 06:36:29 AM
Last year's Central Michigan has one of the worst offensive shot charts I've ever seen, but the defense was good enough for Tony Barbee's first winning records in both overall and conference play. There was a lot of offseason turnover, today we check in on a new-look Chippewas team.

We will annihilate CMU.  But we must work out a few kinks before Maryland and Purdue.

Shaka can't beat Big Ten teams.  Just put down an "L" for both.  Billy Packer was right.

That's a defeatist attitude and unacceptable.  We must figure out what to do when Kam is hard doubled. We become dangerous if Jop drills the spot triple and Ben is active.  We also need Chase to settle down a bit and find his game.  Sometimes guys think they're Speedy Gonzales which is totally unnecessary.  There's only one Speedy, play your game.  That means moving the rock and ball reversals, a little change of pace off the dribble, angles, back-doors, floaters, lob dunks to our bigs,  and precision attacking in our h-c sets.  All 5 working as one, shredding dudes, and taking no prisoners.  This is doable and I fully expect us to elevate our play by Friday.

For the maryland game I think we have to kick and stomp some turtles for good luck. You in?

I have printed out Muggsy's instructions and plan on getting to the UM arena very early so that I can tape it by the Marquette bench without getting run off by arena security.

"Hard doubled" sounds very offensive and speedy González reference feels very racist. I have both games as 100% Ls

Get up early.  Get the bench extensive run.  Stay healthy.

That is all I want tonight.

Can't wait to see Owens if today is the day he starts his career.

He is just that athlete that stands out from the rest of the bunch because of the unteachable abilities he has.

So springy, so fast.

I mean to be fair, anyone who is going out of their way to run out of the turtle has got some deep unresolved issues.

A little bit of both. Shaka and Kam have each said that he is a great ball handler too, so maybe another guy to create offense.

I would expect him to be a very versatile defender too at 6'8" with elite athleticism.

Gotta get healthy first!
